Well, I think I'm going to ditch "My Own Worst Enemy"... I just couldn't get the vocals right. But no fear, I just wrote and recorded a cover of "Ocean Avenue" by Yellowcard.

haha, it's just an acoustic one so it's nothing crazy.

 

I don't think I could do that even in two hours. It takes me that long just to set up the mic a way I like with an acoustic instrument. haha Then there's learning, and playing without it being bad. I don't know if this is actually impressive, but it's definitely impressive to me. haha

My wife ran a 5k today and we were going to stay the night (about 1.5 hours from home) but the event wound down a couple hours before we expected so we came home early! The main reason was no WiFi so, no Game of Thrones... but I'm excited I'll get to hear this compilation sooner.

 

Thanks again @bradsonemanband for adding me to the Weezer comp. I just went back and listened to a few of the other tracks on this one. I'm flattered but so ashamed of the lack of originality in my cover, compared to the work the rest of you guys put in. Fantastic stuff all around.

 

@bradsonemanband I'm at a driving range right now and Ocean Avenue came on just as I opened this thread! Hahah. So strange. Excited to hear your cover! Glad we're getting a YC addition.

 

I just got the initial tracklisting done for the compilation and I can tell you right now that (once again) there isn't a bad song on this!

It's not too late to get more covers in though! So keep em coming.

Drums and bass to my Ramones cover are done! Haha. I programmed them while I pretended to watch Game of Thrones with all my friends and girlfriend. I'll record vocals and guitar after the show is over so I don't piss them off. I've also had 4 shots of whiskey. Woo!

I did Warmth of the Sand by Dashboard. I'm not that good at reading into lyrics, but dude says summer a lot so I figured it was appropriate

 

Well I mean the only qualifier here is that the song personally reminds you of summer, so as long as it meets that criteria then you're golden!

I was losing a little hope with so many drop offs but I'm starting to get the feeling we've got a good amount of songs on this thing.

just a heads up i might have got carried away with layering cause I just watched Inception. Threw in some random screamo, changed the lyrics a tad and name dropped absoutepunk. This was fun even tho i didnt know what im doing.
