You guys make it sound like Tom killed your puppy or something. The hatered for Tom is sad to be honest.

 

It doesn’t take much emotion or effort to say “Fuck Tom”.

 

As far as I know he never brought BCR songs to Blink. I think after TOYPAJ he knew Mark wasn't down with taking Blink in a darker/more serious direction so he didn't try. Which makes Mark getting butt-hurt about BCR that much worse.

 

He's said it in multiple interviews through the years. At first he didn't like the direction of the album and how dark it was but seeing how Tom and Travis were so excited about it it convinced him to go with it.

 

I actually like Tom as a person like all that weird alien shit, it's all in good fun. Just always had the vibe that he wasn't willing to bend to make blink work. We've all seen those humiliating live performances he started giving near the end...even mark was embarrassed...that says something.

 

Tom actually did kill my puppy. Don't you feel stupid now?

 

I've seen more than just that in this thread when it comes to Tom hating.

 

I think Tom wrote all of those BCR songs after getting back surgery and being hooked on pain meds. I don't think any of those songs were ever written and rejected for blink.

That was the original plan for BCR, just one album were he could experiment with stuff that was different from what they were doing with blink. Which is why he didn't invite Mark to join in the recording because he didn't want it to be another blink album.

 

And to be honest that's really not a bad thing

Yeah I definitely think Mark was too sensitive with the BCR stuff but also putting yourself in his shoes all the members in blink except him were recording this new album with a new band and after they said they weren't going to tour end up touring. I could see where it would be weird.

Not at all. I think it is/was healthy to do side projects and take a break and try new things.

 

I haven’t seen anything that isn’t true either though.

 

The fact of the matter is and I think everyone here will probably agree with me here that Mark & Tom are both better when they write together. The fact they can't realize that and work out their shit is really sad.

 

Together and when they're on the same page. Like I don't think Mark and Matt have the chemistry of old school blink at all...and then there's Feldman ugh

 

I guess the thing that bothers me is Tom is the blame for everything. If we are being Mark and Tom both deserve the blame. Unfortunately they will never work anything out. I love the Skeebs and what he's done for Blink but the truth of the matter is Blink is Mark/Tom not Mark/Matt.

 

Tom quit the band, twice, in a fairly shitty way. Why would people not blame him?

 

It’s honestly weird because I felt Tom actually started caring, trying, and enjoying playing in blink more at the end. Those self titled shows he was pretty decent live (for Tom standards). I’m pretty sure at that time they were hinting getting a place to record a new album like in 03 and seemed genuinely excited.

Then out of nowhere: Tom. Is. Out.

 

And Mark played a roll in it. Like I they both get equal blame. But we'll never know the full story.

 

After DED, they were supposed to get in the studio like three separate times. Tom bailed every time. They did plenty to try to make music with him. He doesn't want to, yet all the Tombots say "Mark and Travis, take Tom back" HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE BACK lol. He just wants to say "hey guys I'm in blink, invest"

 

Why would it be equal blame? That’s an absurd thought process. Could Mark and Travis have done something to help? Maybe? We don’t know that. Ultimately people are responsible and culpable for their own actions. Tom leaving in a shitty way is 100% on him.

 

I’m, for some reason, in an Angels & Airwaves FB group and every comment is: “FUCK MATT SKIBA HE RUINED BLINK THEY ARENT BLINK THIS IS NOW BLINK-183 BRING TOM BACK TO MAKE REAL MUSIC”

And I’m like ...? Do you forget Tom quit on them, twice?
