I feel like my own perfume rule is just cause I can't smell it doesn't mean others cant. I think people get too used to the smell of their own cologne or perfume and end up dousing themselves in it. I try not to use it so often that I can't smell it on myself anymore

I don't wear perfume to work but I do when I go anywhere else. Dab my wrists and behind my ears.

    Deodorant should be mandatory.

  7. I don't know that I've ever worn cologne, unless you count Axe in middle school.

For a couple years I was amassing a collection of cologne but now I very rarely wear any

I still don't usually wear shorts but I just bought two pair so I guess I'm reevaluating

I wear cologne pretty much every single day. If I'm leaving the house and will be interacting with people, I wear some.

I just make a compromise and buy some really good smelling deodorant. Degree makes one that smells kinda like cologne. If it wears off I just put more on and stay unsweaty too haha. Two birds one stone.

My brother always steals my cologne and uses it to cover up the smell of cigarettes in his car.

I've wondered for a while why Emotion by Carly Rae Jepsen didn't stick with me like it seemed to for some others, and why it didn't have much commercial success while getting praised by critics and niche audiences... I think it's because it's so *specifically* focused on '80s bubblegum pop. If you want to hear '80s-esque, sugary, innocent pop songs and not much else, it's your album, and does that very well. But there isn't as much of a market for those *specific* sounds as there used to be, and pop music as a whole isn't as innocent as in the '80s. Honestly, the lack of commercial success makes sense.

You have huge acts like Taylor Swift and The 1975 drawing massively from the 80s, so I disagree that there isn't much of a market for that sound. The poor commercial success of Emotion is totally down to the way the label marketed/released the album imo.

'80s pop isn't my thing. If like, Cyndi Lauper comes on the radio, I'll probably change the station. It's largely the production and general sound of that time period that generally just doesn't appeal to me. It took me a while to get into Prince a few years back, largely because I had to get past how '80s-sounding a lot of his most famous work was. Once I got past the production though, he was one of the few '80s pop stars I could grow to love.
