Huh? I'm almost positive I've read multiple different confirmations from him in this thread.

 

I mean the things he tweets are just things other people have sent him

So like “June 1st would be a good release date” isn’t his actual thought, it’s something a fan would send him

 

Oh, come on. If it's not accurate, he shouldn't tweet it out.

 

If I didn't give a shit about a certain band, I probably wouldn't give a shit about whether or not they released a new album just eight months after their last one with no official announcement or rollout

like, the rest of us are fans and none of us are upset, haha, just block him on twiiter if you don't like the way he tweets

Just because I don't care about Weezer doesn't mean it's not annoying or a stupid move to keep pulling the rug out from underneath your fans for fun.

I'd feel this way regardless of the artist or whether I liked them or not.

 

I guess I just can't imagine something I'd care less about then the way a band I don't care about interacts with fans who don't mind, but maybe that's just me

 

Yeah like if brand new did this kinda thing pre-science fiction it would’ve been kind of fucked up but weezer has been prolific enough and rivers’ sense of humor is well known and appreciated by his fans so I don’t think it’s fair to be upset by him messing around the way he has been. I’m sure they’ll put out new music real soon anyway

Tbf the whole “The Black Album is coming out May 25” thing which he said more than once and not just on social media is kinda bullshit. Karl and Sara also backing it up didn’t help either.

 

What-fuckin-ever, after 11 albums the band doesn't owe us shit. If we never got a single note of music ever again, that's fine. EVEN if Rivers says "I'm releasing 11 more albums next week" and then doesn't, so what.

 

I think Rivers intended to have it ready by now but despite some may think given some of their song he seems like a bit of a perfectionist

 

Literally who cares. Really not that big of a deal. Albums get pushed back.. shit happens. They just dropped two surprise songs (despite them being covers) which probably affected the album coming out.

 

Considering how many times Rivers has not fulfilled his promises or how many times he's changed his mind or scrapped a project entirely, it's a choice to be upset at this point imo.

 

Looking at tickets to this tour and those VIP tix are insanely priced.

They'll be using the media push of their Africa cover for the release of their new album. I'm constantly getting animated ads for their Africa cover on Instagram. Why push a meme cover song so hard? They want to have people talking and then fire off the new album right afterwards. Which means the album will be released VERY soon.

That was a great performance on Kimmel. Haha it’s such a solid cover and Rivers still has that amazing voice. Seeing them this summer on tour, hopefully new album will be out/announced by then.

 

They sound so good here. Makes me want to catch them live.

 

Rivers' little lick after the Buddy Holly bridge is my earliest musical memory. I was 5 or 6 when I heard it in 1994 and it never gets old.

Rivers literally just tweets things that people send him or Snap him so I have never once taken anything he’s tweeted seriously lol

 

For whatever reason it's one of mine too.. this of course was in 1999 when I was 6 but still!

That and Guerrilla Radio by Rage.. I even remember thinking it sounded oddly close to the Mission Impossible theme.
