Stay With Me has really grown on me. What a beautiful song.

 

Did you contact them at [email protected]? I sent an e-mail on Friday, but wasn't expecting a response until Tuesday due to the holiday weekend.

IoS is a masterpiece that still holds up so well

 

That review was horrendous

 

Their discography is too amazing to not do this. This is how I'd rank them at this point:

Top Tier (excellent):
1. Vheissu
2. To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
3. Beggars (pretty much on par with TBEItBN but I prefer the new album's style)

Middle Tier (great):
4. The Alchemy Index Vol. 1 & 2: Fire & Water
5. Major/Minor
6. The Illusion of Safety
7. The Alchemy Index Vol. 3 & 4: Air & Earth

Lower Tier (meh):
8. The Artist in the Ambulance (but I'm determined to like this album more than I currently do)
9. Identity Crisis

 

Finally bought and listening. 3/3 so far. "The Window" is an incredible song.

 

Thrice is the band that always should have clicked with me and never fully did.

I think it's finally happened with this record.

Holy shit "Whistleblower", Major Vhiessu vibes from that song and I love it.

 

After initial listen: This could potentially be my second favorite Thrice album behind Vheissu if repeat listens are as positive. That was so awesome. "Salt and Shadow" is a fantastic closer, and "Hurricane", "The Window", and "Whistleblower" are early highlights.

 

I keep hearing "congressmen in jeans" on Whistleblower instead of "congressmen and kings."

So yesterday my three faves were "Salt & Shadow" "The Long Defeat" and "Stay with Me," today my three faves are "Blood in the Sand" "The Window" and "Wake Up."

I'm all over the place.

 

I just checked the FedEx tracking for my pre-order shipment, apparently I shouldn't expect it until Thursday. Oh well.

 

"Congressmen in jeans" strangely describes how I view a lot of megachurch pastors so if the song is about Driscoll I'd say those pants fit.

 

Deftones wish Teenager was as good as Salt and Shadow.

 

I think Black Honey, Whistleblower, and Hurricane are my favorites right now.

 

The Window, Salt & Shadow, and the Long Defeat are really clicking with me right now, but yesterday I had Hurricane and Stay With Me stuck in my head all day.

 

Mine said Tuesday all last week, and it arrived today. So who knows

 

Hurricane, The Window, The Long Defeat, Whistleblower, and Salt and Shadow take top honors from me. Probably spun the record 15 times thus far.

While an excellent comeback record, I do agree with the sentiment that TBEITBN suffers slightly insofar as it re-introduces Thrice to their audience, rather than pushing forward musically. (But I do appreciate several of the recurring musical motifs from their past discography.) The comparatively weaker songs should catalyze the dissolution of the sparse melodic and lyrical rust. I cannot wait to hear what artistic progression will come from LP10.

I just clicked on the Customer Service tab on the bottom of the Thrice store page and it brought me to an issue query I could fill out. This was last Friday, and they got back with me later that same day. But yeah, idk how the holiday weekend will affect their response time.
