It's usually intentional. If their lyrics are gibberish, the songs are focused on layers, textures and different soundscapes. It's more about capturing a mood or just experimenting. And in other songs I find Thom to be an extremely emotional, honest songwriter. Especially in A Moon Shaped Pool
Some of their songs have really helped me through a lot. And not many bands can repeat "yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon" and the song deemed a classic, haha
