How some were written mostly, and I share a religion with Dustin. For example a song like "Words in the Water" is religious, but it's one of my favorite songs they have every written, but then songs like "Listen Through Me" were too on the nose.

Ranking the albums in terms of which I enjoy more it would go like this. Not gonna throw TBEITBN in there, cause it's not fair to.

    Vheissu
    Beggars
    The Artist in the Ambulance
    Illusion of Safety
    The Alchemy Index
    Major/Minor
    Identity Crisis

As a non-Christian those songs come across as about equal in their religiosity and how straightforward they are in that respect.

And damn, does the production on TBEITBN come through even better on vinyl, even with my currently shitty setup.

this new album easily has some of their worst lyrics. they're really pretty bad imo. however that's something that people like me can overlook sometimes without much of a bother thankfully.

These don't bother me too much, save for a few songs like "Wake Up" and "Black Honey". I also enjoy these songs subject matter more, I just felt like the whole religious aspect of the lyrics became stale by Major/minor.

Was hoping mine would be delivered today, but FedEx SmartPost is deceiving and sucks.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Looks like some people that ordered the black are getting smoke variants in.

It's interesting. I think these lyrics would pass on 9/10 albums from other artists, but Dustin has set the bar pretty high over the years. For a Thrice album they are a little on the low end, but for anyone else they are great.

Also can't believe how many people have IoS so low on their rankings. That's the album that got me into Thrice, but I might be in the minority in that I have been good with their post-IoS/TAITA evolution and appreciate pretty much their whole catalog. Maybe a lot of the folks who would have ranked Ios higher have dropped off the map.

Got my copy today—smoke, just like I ordered. I do miss the thoughts from band members like past records had, but overall it is a nice booklet. Record sounds great to me, and I'm very relieved after hearing there were so many issues. I hope everyone gets their order corrected soon!

What does the sticker on the front say? Does it indicate the variant?

Yes. Mine said "Limited edition color" I believe.

Wake up is one of those songs you hate to love, it's a little corny and kind of your standard rock song but it's a ton of fun to just blast and rock out to ha

I'm still hoping this is widespread enough, as it certainly seems to be, so they have to actually address it and get people what they've ordered.

To anyone who has received their pre orders- are there cool detailed liner notes like the other thrice vinyl packages?

As far as I know, people are being told that they have no more of the Smoke variant and are offering only a refund.

Obviously I'd take a refund if that was my only option, but I'd really like to receive what I ordered. I'm still waiting on mine, but bummed that this has been an issue for so many.

  23. They responded to my email by essentially just sending me a couple links to returns/exchanges forms and no other info. So I'm gonna call them Monday morning to make sure if I actually do send mine back that they will for sure have a Smoke for me. Super annoying.

Anyone else that got their preorder get the wrong color variant? I ended up with black but ordered smoke. A little inconvenient since I actually bought it to frame.
