so, essentially, “glow” part 2

 

Finally got a chance to listen: the similarities between Zeitgeist is crazy! But, I'm for it. My only issue is with the mix, as it sounds the vocals are much louder than the music.

 

It's not bad!....It's not my favorite for various reason previously stated...It just kinda feels a bit empty in places?

 

I'm digging it! Whoever said it was Zeitgeist with better mixing was dead on.

And even if this song originated from the Monuments sessions, you could tell there's a heavy Rick Rubin influence on here. Every vocal melody tries to be a hook.

 

Yeah I’m not that keen on this so far, maybe it’ll grow on me. I agree with everyone the vocals aren’t great and are far too loud in the mix. Still regardless of that I’m still looking forward to the album.

 

Pretty much agreed with everyone else's thoughts. Not a bad song but not terribly exciting. Ever since Zeitgeist they just haven't been able to figure out how to mix Billy's vocals (Oceania comes closest to getting it right)

 

i hope the other songs are more exploratory. i just really want him to go out there like he did on oceania again

Man. I was hoping the pumpkins would finally deliver something great again. This sounds a lot like the crap released over the past 10-15 years.

Like, I don’t know if Corgan is writing weak unremarkable music these days or if production is a huge mess. But there’s just something off about it that makes it incredibly underwhelming.

 

If this EP is anything like Monuments, The best song will not be the single they released.
I felt that Tiberius should have been the single on Monuments, Which they didn't really push.

 

I agree. Anti-Hero was my favourite!

Even with the lyrics not being great Dorian is my favorite off Monuments

Damn, guess I'm a dork and think "Being Beige" was the best off of Monuments.

 

My opinion on a vocalist has never been as dependant on the way he's produced as Billy Corgan. New song's alright but the vocals are clawing at my ears.

 

It’s between Being Beige and Run2me as my favs from Monuments.

 

Nah I'm with you, I think Being Beige and Tiberius are the best songs from that album.

 

One and All is my favourite Monuments joint. The riff rules. Not really feeling the new song after one listen.

 

That opening riff is soooo heavy on One And All. I really like that song. I actually learned how to play that one on guitar. It's a fun one.

 

Na. I totally dig Being Beige. That's such a beautiful song.

 

yeah agreed "being beige" is great. really the monuments singles and some of the other songs are v good but it does not hold together as an album at all

 

the effect of it is just a little too... shallow
