  1. It doesn't land even if you "get it." Heh.

I agree. I guess you can still try a joke, but if you don't get any reaction at first, don't continue saying it hoping it'll suddenly pick up.

  3. Can I keep making my jokes about Knuckle Deep Friends Overboard or is that dad joke level now?

I don't think I've ever heard those jokes, so you have my agreement to continue.

Man, just saw this picture on Instagram from a photographer from LA. From the the final “farewell show”. You can totally see the difference between Dustin, Tepps, and Ed in the way they are standing on the stage and stuff, poor Ed :( so glad they are just back together though

The song is perfectly acceptable as a first single. I like it all things considered. I just think it had the potential to be a GREAT song.

Please don't hurt me –– but Riley has said on record that "Black Honey" is their top performing single. It charted for 32 weeks compared to 'All That's Left's' 4 weeks. Its radio play lasted longer, especially in certain parts of the country. WWE gave it a huge lift, apparently.

"ATL" sold more (from what I can tell) and charted higher on the alt rock charts. Different radio charts (alt rock vs mainstream rock). The radio spin and distance ATL got on alt radio in 2003 is very different than now. "Black Honey" did well on mainstream rock radio for a while and got good play from WWE to bump streams. That video has like 18m views. Big song for this era, but a totally different era compared to MTV/radio in 2003 and I think I'd still argue the reach that song had in 2003 was bigger for where it played. That's what I meant by "performing." Maybe I'm wrong.

  13. Also, I think it's funny that the band's biggest song in years became a wrestling staple. Heh. Kids in 2002 woulda rioted.

  15. Hot take: I think their over 6 minute songs are good but sometimes a little too long and I don't like Phish either, wrap it up.

THRICE used to describe themselves as a band without choruses. It's crazy how things change.

Jason: Black Honey or The Grey?

I’m not Jason, but for me it’s “The Grey” easily. “Black Honey” ain’t bad, but it might be my least favorite on TBEITBN.

Also, I can totally see what you’re saying about a version of this song where they blow it totally wide open at the bridge, and maybe we’ll get that when they play it live, but I really like it just as it is.

Thank you for hearing what I'm saying. While I have complicated feelings about Foo Fighters, at least they make their songs far more interesting in the live setting.

I wanna say The Grey but honestly Black Honey is one of their best songs to experience live which is weird bc it's not even close to my fav from them, so I'll give it the edge

They used to pride themselves on not repeating the same parts (or as little as possible). 'Deadbolt' isn't structured like a single; it just has a series of hooks that make it as effective as one. There's no "chorus" in that song, per se.
