Mom Jeans Announce New album

Yeah true. Just no ones sleeping on this band, more like they put you to sleep.

 

Last year they were playing basements. This year they are playing Riot Fest. They are obviously doing something right. They are a great group of guys and the music is top tier emo. Mediocre? Remo Drive is mediocre.

 

More like "my first emo band"

 

If you don't like it, move along..

 

i'd much rather people be fans of this band than problematic bands, at the very least regardless of the quality they seem like really good people

 

They're not bad, but "about to blow up" is a little aggressive... I hadn't ever listened to these guys and I read your comment before listening to this song expecting something much much better than what I got.

That being said, the song was alright for what it is and I'll probably check out some of their other stuff to see if I can get into it.

 

they're the biggest rising band in emo right now

 

Like I said, last summer they were playing house shows in basements. This summer they are playing Riot Fest in Chicago and already played Bled Fest this year.

 

I'm gonna check out some more of their stuff, but "blowing up" and landing on a couple festivals are two totally different things. I'm happy for them that they've gotten to that point quickly, though. Makes me think they've got better stuff than this song, so I'll give them a better listen today for sure.

Alright alright, they're blowing up. Jesus, you guys are actually making me not want to check them out. Also pretty sure Delirium is either in the band or a profile you just created to back yourself up.

No, not at all. I'm just a fan. I've been a long time lurker of absolute/chorus for years and today when I seen a MJ post I figured I'd say something. I've seen them 7 times in the last year, hung out with them, got to know them and befriended them. They are without a doubt my favorite band in the scene at the moment. Their first album 'Best Buds' is incredible and their 2nd LP is just as good, if not better. Very excited for their future.

 

They are definitely blowing up. I saw them recently and the entire crowd was going wild

 

They want to be Mobo so bad haha.

Blowing up? I've never heard of this band and I'm constantly keeping my eyes and ears on new music.

And, that lead guitar in the intro sounds like they are just hitting random notes and trying to make it sound good.

 

as i said, in the DIY emo/punk scene they are pretty much the biggest band out there right now. modern baseball in the you're gonna miss it all era

 

Well, considering that's their biggest influence, it doesn't surprise me. My opinion, they are better than MOBO. With LP2 they've truly found their "own" unique sound and it's great.

I mean, my band sounds like Mom Jeans. They are the reason I picked up the guitar again and started a project with my close friend. It really sucks that people continue to call them a "rip-off" band. If you think about it, there are a lot of musicians out there that have all "ripped off" each other.

 

lol go to any other emo board and they're usually on the top of the list. the hype is very real

 

This band always sounded like to me if Mobo or Dikembe weren't nearly as interesting.
