New Thrice is tight. What a great comeback album. Wasn't super into M/M so this is a return to form imo.

So ridiculously jealous of everyone who got to see Devil and Daisy performed in full at those album shows. I'd kill for that. But why not both the DVD and the LP?! It's just one song, man!

In general, I think Brand New is a damn good band that I just am not super into outside of Daisy. I'm fine with whatever they do honestly. I've never been waiting around for Daisy to be followed up (let alone topped), and if I hate this album then it won't really matter in the long run because there's a lot of music this year I've liked a ton already.

I'm with @KennedyBN i don't see them ever being done for good, I think they will always plays some shows every few years. I also don't believe they planned on being gone for 7+ years this time around

yeah i kinda refuse to believe any band is really ever "over" unless there is an actually falling out between members.

i mean, the fact the American Football played shows 20 years after the release of their 9 song, one and only LP and are rumored to be writing music makes me believe that there is hope for every band on hiatus to come back lol.

This has been the year of bands coming back from hiatus and being broken up.

If the whole album sounds like I Am a Nightmare. God. I don't even know.

That would be a massive disappointment for me.

This is why I refuse to believe Stephen Christian when he says there is no way Anberlin ever does anything again...

I feel pretty strongly Anberlin won't. Haha They didn't just break up, they did a whole year long finale for the band. I think coming back after all of that would almost be wrong.

I was at the Santa Ana Show (D&G + Daisy night). One of the best music experiences of my life. Such a small show. It was amazing.

Not saying it wouldn't be wrong, but in ten years who is to say what happens? Stephen doesn't know what will be going on in ten years.

Yeah. Anberlin is my favorite band (maybe tied with Circa Survive and Say Anything). I don't know what will happen, but I think Anberlin is pretty adamantly done. Brand New I could see going then returning, but I also don't see them turning their end into a huge fair well. I don't think the Anberlin dudes would just based on how much respect they have for the legacy of the band. I would both love to and hate to be proven wrong here. Haha

AOF is a good example of never say never. They did this huge farewell tour and came back. Thrice too although they were much more clear about their intentions to return eventually.

What does AOF stand for? haha I know Underoath did this recently, and while there's a lot of people who are happy, there's also a lot who feel kind of ripped off (for lack of better term) by the big farewell thing. I just remember Anberlin mentioning their legacy a lot and feel even if they would want to return, they'd want to keep Anberlin's name clean of the negativity more. I don't know of course though, and the whole conversation is really just guesses.

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

I'm a little late to the conversation point about Mene, but I'd be really interested to hear that song with the kind of production that was on Daisy. I feel the kind of gritty, raw feel of the Daisy tracks could really suit it.

  23. Mene is practically low-fi compard to IATN

  24. It is? I don't hear that. They sound pretty similar just Mene has a better mix

  25. it's probably just my ears but IATN seems like it has a very clean mix for the most part. Mene seems a bit more in line with TDAG and Daisy (the guitars especially don't cut through the mix like IATN). however, Jesse's vocals on Mene actually seem clearer so idk.
