An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

fair enough. I would've sold a limb to hear a full album with Kurt and Tillian trading off in 2018, but oh well

We reach for the longest shadow

Suspended In This Disaster is the jam.

EDIT: and Story of My Bros sounds like an ADTR song, as in, everything except Jon's lyrics could easily be executed just fine by them.

EDIT 2: I'm talking to myself now. This album doesn't drag at the end like Mothership for me. I think having the Jon song earlier in the album helps.

All of Tides of Man including Tilian were pretty conservative Mormons from what I’ve heard, so this honestly doesn’t surprise me at all.

Yeah, he’s the frontman of Eidola and DGD’s main touring guitarist. Really talented guy.

this is definitely better than Mothership but now that we know 100% for sure Tilian is a MRA chud I kinda wouldn't mind if he quit and got replaced by the Eidola guy

tillian seems like a real POS but he's still not even close to the biggest POS that's ever fronted this band lmao

I didn't like this very much and thought it was a big step down from Mothership.

I remember Tilian retweeting a load of Kanye tweets a while ago

I still can't listen to Lost now. That lyric is so bad.

If the worst of the conjecture about what Tillian has written as lyrics could be taken at face value (and Im not sure I do) (its vague) (the band is a self aware joke, etc.), I would attribute it to sheer ignorance. I dont have any reason to believe he is a malicious or predatory person.

He did retweet some Kanye stuff, but it was before Kanye *totally* melted down. Also, he's not Mormon, his family was brought up in Scientology, you can google his dad's name, Creed Pearson. I'm pretty sure songs like Inspire the Liars lets you know how he feels about that.

Im still kinda baffled by how much I didnt enjoy this album the first time around that its making it very hard to wanna listen to it again atm. That coupled with the low quality leak.

Yea the new full quality leak sounds better than I was expecting, thankfully.

After a few listens, I feel like this is in the same tier as Mothership - somewhat inconsistent, one or two songs I don't like much at all, but plenty of highlights. Acceptance Speech is still my fav from the Tilian era.

I think I like this as a whole more than Mothership, but the highs in Mothership are higher. Nothing comes close to Young Robot, Inspire the Liars, and Deception.

    Of course its not.

Ignorant is just closer to redeemable than being outright an evil creep.

I just hope for the best in people.

@Bryan Diem guess I was wrong about the band calling it quits soon.

Didn't write that VERY creepy song that i still can't put on because its high level cringey? And now he has a song defending creeps and calling women liars who only want to bring down innocent men who could never hurt anyone?

    Its not a good look.

I think he's pretty anti-woman from some of those lyrics. Real gross shit.

Shit I meant Scientology and somehow forgot and thought he was Mormon lol... my apologies to any Mormons on here!

Which is a bummer because this album sounds like the band is running on empty idea wise

He's clearly an apologist for crappy people.
Which explains why he still cleans up after JC.

I guess it's lucky that he's, at worst, an ass.
Although time has a way of telling.

My thing is that the Tilian thing is essentially harmless to the art

I mean, the same could be said for Jonny, but he's an actual abuser and writes songs against his accusers. He actually creates a toxic (and potentially predatory) environment for his fans.

Tilian's just one of those dumb, apolitcal, "Not my problem" types. His opinions don't really affect his songs, cause let's be honest: No one listens to DGD for the lyrics, and these days they're so vague and tongue-in-cheek, even though he's clearly kinda dumb, it doesn't matter cause his opinions are his own and he doesn't get on a soapbox about it.
