How are Turnstile not on this? It seems like they're doing the festival cycle in September already

 

Turnstile’s playing Made in America and Louder Than Life in September so they’re definitely out and about that time of the year.

 

I really thought they would, I guess it’s still possible

 

When is the Albums and second wave supposed to be announced?

 

Second wave is usually sometime in late June, so I'd anticipate that within a few weeks. The album plays are usually announced like, within a day or two of the line-up announcements... So they're a bit "late" with those this year.

 

I know there was a lot of talk about the Get Up Kids as a potential. Looks like they're probably out as a second wave add too. They're recording a new album in September.

 

A Perfect Circle were announced for Voodoo Fest in October. So I think them playing Riot and being announced 2nd wave is likely

 

Do you guys think RF will address the Jerry Lee Lewis (and others) backlash? i see someone mention JLL on almost every post/tweet/comment thread since the line up announcement and wondering if they are just ignoring hoping it goes away... but if any fest would tackle a controversy head on, id think it be Riot, but who knows. I sent them a message asking if they plan on saying/explaining anything to their fans who are concerned about it and i already saw they read it, so i guess we'll see..

 

I hope they do, but I don’t expect it unless something really goes viral.

 

I've also seen a lot of people doing this with Moose Blood but I don't expect that to get a statement either

Festivals are different because JLL probably was guaranteed a boatload of money and if they take him off they will just lose all of that

 

yea im sure contracts will definitely get in the way of just dropping him, curious how much they considered his past /this response when booking - anywhere from: a complete oversight, to a considered gamble, or a "who cares, hes a legend"

 

I hope Moose Blood gets cut. I know after Movements dropped off that AUS tour people started to become more aware.

 

I mean, Neck Deep still played in 2015 after their whole thing went public.

 

Any shows by any bands pop up the same weekend to determine which day they're on the festival?

 

What did Jerry Lee Lewis do? Sorry for being ignorant.

 

He’s had some controversy in the past. His two biggest ones was shooting his bass player, and marrying his 13 year old semi-cousin

 

also a pretty convincing argument that he killed one of his wives and got away with it. Podcast about it called "disgraceland", and the cliff notes/description of the episode:

"The night before, Jerry Lee Lewis’ 5th wife died, she made a phone call to her Mom. She told her that she was thinking of leaving the rock and roll pioneer, but that he wouldn’t let her. Then, she made a second call — this one to the sister of her high-school sweetheart, making plans for the sister to come take her away from Jerry Lee later that month. Then… in mid-sentence the phone went dead. The next day, Mrs. Jerry Lee Lewis was found dead. Neatly placed on top of a perfectly made bed in the newlywed couple’s guest room. Despite the bruises on her body, the blood under her fingernails, the scratches on her husband’s hands, and the mountain of other physical and anecdotal evidence, the death was ruled an accident.
