There will always be people in your life trying to chop you down. Forget them. A good friend of mine says "A guy can find the cure to cancer and there will be people waiting to chop him down". It's a terrible but true reality in life.

I saw that @supernovagirl, I think what Dan is saying about people treating being 'woke' like a competition is spot on, don't let people put you down because they don't agree with you. Like you have to have your head completely up your ass to stop being friends with someone because they eat Chic-Fil-A, like lmfao that is 110% silly. I know it's not so easy to write it off like that bc it's your life but that's the reality!

Those are her real beliefs and I don’t think she’s even doing it in a competition way lol that’s just how she is. It’s just heartbreaking bc she preaches not judging people and understanding that people are just doing their best. But a post about a fast food meal is enough to end all?
People are obviously entitled to end friendships as they see fit. I just don’t know why she had to belittle me and make me feel like shit along with it

For sure and I don't understand why. All I can say is the internet brings the worst out of people without having to deal with the direct consequences Of their actions. The voices that speak the loudest are unfortunately the ones that have the most extreme views. I know it's incredibly difficult but you gotta understand they don't speak for everyone and try to tune that BS out

 

That was my exact response. Anyone friends with me on fb is obviously welcome to read through it. But yeah I was like honestly every company does something I disagree with so sometimes you just want a chicken sandwich

The irony is that I don’t even really like chick fil a outside of breakfast (which I’m hardly ever awake for lol) and only went there bc my ex wanted it and offered to buy it for me.

 

But you need to see the hypocrisy in what she is doing. I will never get someone who is so for human rights but also treats people like such shit.

 

It does really hurt me and upset me with how it ended. I can take getting called out- I know that going to chick fil a is technically “wrong” but I’m also not causing any direct hurt. I don’t think it’s fair to put the CEO’s views on me, I don’t align myself with them at all. Just like most CEOs. I just don’t like feeling like my worth and character are defined by which fast food I ate for dinner

Chick fil a also help put their employees through college. Corporations (capitalism) is problematic and nearly impossible to avoid. If you feel you need to leave this site for your mental health, then please do that. However, I genuinely think you're a wonderful poster and would hate to not see your contributions to the various threads we frequent on here.
