i mean i'm the same way, but i also don't care about the wait. lots of people here feel that the long wait hurts the hype but like...whatever. they wanted to drop the new song so they could play it on their upcoming festival dates i'm sure

this. Any time an album is announced with over two months until its release it's super annoying. I remember the last Norma Jean album the September release date was announced on MARCH 25TH and it was the goddamn worst

their festival dates start next week too, as i said, so they probably wanted this out so they could play it for those shows, without having to do a three month lead

 

there is no album, they spent four months recording only this song

 

Thrice falls into that weird grey (heh) area that Bayside also occupies where I like them and they’re great live but I really just don’t care about ever seeing them live again

I don't know if that is fiscally responsible for the artist, but def enjoy being surprised.

 

Pretty sure their last solo headlining tour also was originally at St Andrews before getting moved to the fillmore.

 

not the bands fault, but now Im going to spend way to much energy speculating about what the record is going to be.
Set expectations with no bearing on reality, then have to try and listen unbiased.

Just take my money today, let me listen, then surprise me at X mas when a vinyl comes to the door from Santa.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of announcing a single with no other info. If it's a single, say it's a one off single. If it's part of the album, say that, and that an album announcement is coming.

 

Yoooooo that song is freaking great. I honestly liked it more than most of what's on TBEITBN. Has that Beggars vibe for me, which is exactly where I wanted to them to go. Put that album info and pre-orders up so I can purchased the most expensive edition please.

Remember 3-4 months ago when we all thought the album would be released June 1st? Well the song leaked on that day.

The riff of this song is awesome and it sounds dope but I don't like the song part like, at all. Huh

I hear multiple different Thrice-era sounds. Beggars, M/M, and TBEITBN. Don’t think it sounds more like one than the other. Either way, I absolutely love the direction they’re heading.

 

Anyone know who produced it? That Palmquist guy that did TBEITBN was amazing.

 

Yeah i wonder about that too.
