This Is Such A Pity is underrated imo

 

I'm up to the red album now. Gonna play that one tonight and finish the rest tomorrow.

Off PD I will say feels like summer and happy hour are the rare examples that the two best songs on the album were the first two singles.

 

Weekend Woman is the best song on that album though

Loving all the Make Believe talk. I was super into that album when it came out, but revisiting it now there are a handful of pretty weak songs. Still some great stuff there though.

I recorded a cover of "This Is Such a Pity" a year or so ago for one of @bradsonemanband's tribute compilations. Snuck the riff from "The Final Countdown" into the solo haha. Still proud of that.

 

That sounds awesome! Where can i hear it?

Honestly Make Believe is just outside my top 5. I don't get all the hate for it.

Haha, I think they're just okay. I've heard a few of their albums but not really interested in hearing everything. I probably would've loved them when I listened to pop-punk exclusively but it's not my wheelhouse at all

 

*deep breath* Beverly Hills and We Are All On Drugs are fucking awesome and Make Believe is a strong #4 after Blue, White, then Pinkerton. Green (outside of Photograph) and Maladroit are awful and sound like Rivers wishes he was playing heavy metal riffs and they come off as so damn cheesy. They were always better when it came to writing more straight up pop.

Also, Red may have bigger high points, but the album as a whole is just as much of a struggle to get through as Raditude.

Also, EWBAITE is super boring as a whole.

Yeah this is basically how i feel. I shouldn’t say they suck haha.. just not for me haha.

 

I just bought the last copy of this one because i love the artwork so much. Fight me too. They got it titled wrong tho and that bothers me.

 

I recall getting into a heated debate with a bunch of drunks at a bar the week Make Believe came out. My friends were so angry when I said I was enjoying it.
