  1. First four songs and I Can Feel A Hot One are perfect

Tony The Tiger, to me, is somber yet hopeful. Makes me think of simpler time long ago with maybe a high school gf or something.

METN is best on a summer evening, sun going down, just driving along with nowhere to be.

And honestly Black Mile actually clicks best for me mid-day on a summer day.

I usually relate the time I think an album “works best”, to when it just so happened to click at that certain time for me.

METN will always be my favorite i think. its one of very few albums that i think is legitimately flawless and i wouldnt change a single thing about it.

ABMTTS and ILAV are neck and neck but i might give the edge to ABMTTS if only because it feels like the album this band was meant to make.

Cope/Hope are very good and i like that those songs have two different versions to fit two different wants. Simple Math is better than its given credit for i think, its my least favorite by a good bit but theres still redeeming qualities about it.

NSA deserves mention i think, its got some good songs on it for what it is.

I love nobody sings anymore, I do wonder if the bands trajectory would have changed if that was their debut record. I think they made the right call not putting it out.

I get the feeling that I like Simple Math more than most MO fans... It's still too early for me to do a definitive ranking, but I think ABMTTS, SM & METN are all fantastic albums. I haven't spent a lot of time with ILAV for whatever reason but it is really good. Cope is their only real misstep for me - I feel like they really hamstrung what could have been a fantastic album. I wish they hadn't been as rigid with the style so to speak of the recording of those songs.

I think Cope is their worst album but I listen to it the most.

    Whatever that means.

Cope is a fun straight ahead rock album, and the vocals on cope are awesome, Andy belts that entire record so flawlessly.

The instrumentals are super simple and straightforward but that’s what they wanted to do. Glad they showed on black mile they could still write interesting instrumental parts. I’m excited for what they do next, whatever that may be.

I totally get this. It’s their least complex, least deep record but it’s so jammy. It’s not my most played MO record but I love rocking out to it even though it’s easily my least favorite of theirs.

The way I see it, ABMTTS is a masterpiece. METN is a near masterpiece. Simple Math and ILAV are both close behind and excellent records in their own rights. Cope/Hope is their worst but endlessly jammable/chillable.

In other words, they good. Real good.

Yeah, completely agree. Held this opinion since about my 5th listen of the album. I wouldn't be sad if they ended the band on this album and just did other projects.

Went through an old playlist on an iPod and I found and fuck, what a backlog this band have. I remember listening to La-Di-Da constantly. That's a tune.

Yeah and they had the contest for the cover. Opens up nice possibilities for some sweet vinyl variants.
