    Fight the long defeat.

While I'm marginally upset by the mistake, the black variant is still in pristine condition. I hope the number of people who received the wrong color is significant enough to prompt a reparative response from the label.

This how I feel about it too. Already looks substantial enough of an issue to warrant an official response from Vagrant. Maybe even a small repress of that variant.

The real question is: What happened to the Smoke variants that didn't ship to the correct people?

I listened to TAITA today, and TBEITBN could've been a direct follow up to that record and most of us wouldn't have blinked an eye about it. That was a fun realization.

Yeah, I love 'Wake Up', too. It's probably the most Beggars-esque song on the album (which is a positive for me). I love the build-up to the chorus, as well. The whole first minute feels like an impending doom on the horizon slowly marching up on you and crashing down. Edit: And that thundering explosion of sound to finish it off. So good.

I was thinking about this too. Some songs, like Whistleblower, sound like a TAITA track done up in the style of M/M. Pretty sweet.

There is not a song on here that I don't like. I think I can now say I like it more than Vheissu. I think.

I'm not sure I can even judge this record at this point - just incredible to have Thrice back.
First few spins, The Window, Black Honey and Salt and Shadows are my standouts.

Also, would absolutely love if they find a way to play a fleshed out Seneca touring this summer.

You're going to The Tabernacle, too, right? (I think we've talked about this.)

    Yeah I'll be there.

Looks like the standard black is no longer available from Amazon (but is available from other sellers) or Thrice's Webstore.

So, a few people on /r/thrice have had the same issue with receiving the black vinyl instead of the Smoke.

One person talked to customer service and was told they could only offer a refund as they were out of replacement Smoke vinyl. Worst case sceenerio in my opinion. I don't want a refund. I want what I ordered.

    Fight the long defeat.

More than likely, they're in the hands of people who didn't necessarily order them. I hardly expect those pleasantly surprised fans would return a limited variant in favor of standard black, especially with any risk of not receiving the black afterwards.

Man, mine that hasn't shipped yet better be the Smoke vinyl, it hasn't shipped yet, still in processing. Otherwise I'm gonna find a way to talk to Vagrant about this stuff.

Anyone think they could work up an iPhone background/wallpaper from the artwork?

So it's not about Snowden? pretty obvious though, but I thought a band member said it was.

There's no way that song isn't about Driscoll.

After a couple of listens, I like The Long Defeat more than I did before. A great comeback album. My only complaint is that it could have used a couple more slow moments, but it's still fine. And I like Wake Up, but that chorus feels pretty lazy...

This album is a fucking ripper and unless Hotelier/Pup blow my mind (which could very well happen), it's going to be dominating my listening habits for quite a bit.
