MM and Beggars do nothing for me at all.

I like a lot of M/m musically, but I find the lyrics on many of the songs to be pretty bad and that ruins those songs for me.

I still played the hell out of it when it was released though.

  4. See, in my opinion, and according to my analysis of their music, M/m is so understated in its adventurous ideas and its progression from Beggars that many people find it to be boring where I find it to be exhilarating; meanwhile, TBEITBN is so overstated in its simplicity (albeit its highly effective simplicity) that most people think it's big and exciting, while I'm over here in the minority view thinking it's Thrice's most formulaic and unexciting record (next to Alchemy 1 & 2).

Sorry for the oddly long sentence.

  5. I think M/m, Vheissu, Beggars, and Illusion of Safety are all masterpieces. M/m just barely edges out the others for me, but it's basically a four-way-tie.

    Fight the long defeat.

Musically, I'm a fan. Lyrically, it's not quite scratching the itch. Hope we get a release date and/or tour announcement soon!

The verses and bridge are super beggars-y. Maybe just because of the production?

How is the Alchemy Index formulaic?

    Beggars is their best.

Not sure what my second favorite is these days. Probably between Artist, Alchemy Index, and To Be Everywhere. Though if I throw in Dustin's solo material, Carry the Fire is probably my real #2.

I like Major/Minor less now than I did when it came out, but "Yellow Belly," "Anthology," and "Cataracts" are still three of my favorite songs they've ever released.

Ready to try this new song.

I really love Dustin’s vocals on this track. More beggars than TBEITBN

Song sounds good. Unsurprisingly reminds me the most of To Be Everywhere, but some Beggars and maybe even Major/Minor vibes, too.

astounded by how low the general opinion of M/M here is. are you listening to the same album? Cataracts? Blur? Anthology? did you download an entirely different record on accident?

  21. I already feel like I've died a few times trying to defend M/m. Haven't given up yet.

Major minor is a good solid record it’s just lower by thrice standards

+1. Having Thrice, Rise Against, The Gaslight Anthem + Alkaline Trio on one bill was insane and amazing. That was my formal introduction to Thrice and they have remained one of my favourite bands ever since.

Dustin sounds a bit tired/worn out on that record tbh
