Yeah I feel like people really need to reconcile with that Russell Simmons line. It's pretty clear Kanye thinks the #MeToo movement is a witch hunt against innocent men, since he's "praying" for Russ and imagines "What if that happened to me???"

I give a measure of leeway to what people say in songs or art, understanding that it's not necessarily reflective of their personal views, but it falls in line with plenty of other Kanye statements/his political ID

My prediction without having listened to the album is that it'll do fine critically. Not as well as Yeezus or even TLOP, but I think the general consensus will be positive with some vocal detractors.

Yea that's going to be the most frustrating thing about this album is that the people who do like it are going to write off the people who don't and say "oh you just wanted to not like it because of all the controversy; separate art from the artist bro" but no, it's just not very good.

it's making for a good background listen, but I haven't really heard anything that's going to have a particularly lasting effect on me yet.
