show holds up. the fact that Nickelodeon let Hartman create a superhero that so CLEARLY deals with depression and anxiety and paranoia is wild. i related so hard to that in like, middle school and shit.

 

i definitely identified with danny phantom more than any other cartoon on the network at the time, though jimmy neutron was a (sorry) blast

on a purely surface level yeah probably but Danny Phantom holds up better as an adult

 

I don't like it, and not as in 'meh, they've released better', I just flat out don't like it from the song writing, to the production to the lyrics. Pretty much everything about this song misses the mark from the blatant rip off of a riff and the 'I'm so deep but not really' lyrics, to the poor production choices, I'm honestly so disappointed. I've listened to it a half dozen times already and my opinion hasn't shifted. I will say it's catchy as hell (the riff and the chorus) but catchy doesn't always mean good. Still, high hopes that the album(s) will be filled with songs that are more to my taste. All that hype though for this as as into to the new era has left me feeling a little sour.
