its wild that a band with 4 members can sound like they have 8 on record and make it all work well together.

yeah looks like there's two touring members, really impressive seeing as one of them is mainly just there for the sax on if i believe you

    little past references ive caught:

-It all tastes the same in the dark references Woman

-finding a gray hair in a joint sounds similar to "am i too old to be this stoned?" from Change Of Heart

-youll move somewhere sunny and get addicted to drugs, could reference several songs but reminds me the most of UGH

i caught the woman reference but thats a great pick up on change of heart. the sunny line definitely reminded me of ugh but also has hints of paris in there since in the song paris is regarded as this dream-like utopia, could be the "somewhere sunny"

based on the reactions i was expecting the guitar to be more jarring, but i was in love instantly. great great song.

I think it's top 10 lyrics and a definite bop, but I don't have the history or emotional connection with GYAT to put it anywhere near my top 10 songs by this band.

I would love to do that, but I am terrified of regretting it. I was weeks away from getting a 137 tattoo when the Jesse Lacey fallout happened.

That's fair and I think I'm mostly predicting how this will sit with me as I have experiences with it over time you know? As it is the lyrics are really hitting home so I can only see it hitting closer and closer over time

Yep. Once I spin around at a show to it this winter with a few thousand people it'll rocket up the charts haha.

I have a fight off your demons tattoo so I know the risk but I really feel strongly about it. And a box will be super easy to cover up if need be.

"Like context in a modern debate, I just took it out" is 100% a lyric that no other pop band in the last few decades would think about writing, let alone get within a 1000-foot radius of releasing to the public as a single.

Ah, sorry :( That's still a great tattoo stripped of the musical context. I have no tattoos and don't intend on getting many in my life, so I wouldn't want to regret the few I have and need to cover it up. Think I'm going to wait until this band's in my life for a decade... whatever skeletons Matty creates in his 20s will likely be out by then. But who knows, I'm moving to Brooklyn tomorrow so maybe I'll feel differently in 6 months lol.

I'm considering doing this for the tattoo. Hopefully they keep the box and have a different color each era and I can update as they go
