I disagree with this being the best Matty has sounded vocally. When Love Me dropped, the way he sings "Caught up in fashion/Karcrashian panache" still gives me chills- but this song fuckin' rules. Definitely makes me feel so young and in love with life. Just awesome.

 

This will be a grower for sure. into the lyrics though

 

Feeling lukewarm about the song. Liked it more on a second listen but I was hoping it'd grab me more the first time. I was a lot more excited hearing all of the singles leading up to their last album than any sort of reaction this got out of me.

Cool to know there are two albums on the way tho.

I remember working my old job, being miserable counting cars and waiting for the premiere of “Love Me”. Wish I could’ve heard this live as well, but here’s to being in a better place in life. Was hoping for an EP or album in time for my birthday and the summer but I can’t wait to hear a non-leaked version of this. Band is legendary to me, always put out amazing, evolving work.

 

Lyrics are pretty good, as usual.

The song is really unappealing....what is going on here? The riff is grating. The beat, or bpm, sounds artificially sped up/doesnt fit the song imo. Even when he's singing the lyrics it sounds like he's rushing himself through the song.

This is would be...alright on an album...but really odd to release as the first track.

Have they said when the actual album is coming yet?

I pretty thoroughly hate Give Yourself a Try. The instrumental is so obnoxious

I hated Love Me and still loved the album so not too worried, but oof this song

Super happy to have a band that can still shock, excite, and surprise me.

 

All my IRL friends all they are doing is complaining about the guitar. One who is a big the 1975 stan like me he said it sounds like an irritating deflating ballon.

I dig, i dig it alot. I'm not sure what the fan reaction is, as i haven't really read the thread or browsed social media, but i can see this pissing off and letting down alot of people, which imo is the best thing they could do.

 

I wish their shows weren't so filled with people that have their phones out. I wanna dance so hard with everyone to this at the tour.
