Greg was much more into it than I've ever seen him before. He came into the crowd several times. Crowd surfed, grabbed the camera mans camera that projects on the stage and ran around the entire audience with it

It was great, but yes those 2 Grog shows are right up there with it. Also my first time seeing them

I still find it crazy that Arkells headlines arenas and stadiums in Canada, including at Parliament this year for Canada Day, yet is so far down on this undercard.

Divide between US and Canada popularity can be nuts

Gorllaz just announced a shows in Chicago in October so i guess you could count them out.

I mean, if you liked that early-to-mid 00's Victory Records roster, then Spitalfield was probably right up your alley.

As a local, it's kind of a Chicago thing, last time they played was in 2015(?) so it's always nice for them to get back together for a show.

  9. I decided months ago that I wasn't going this year because it's just too much money, and maybe it's just me trying to make myself feel better since I won't be there, but I do think this is one of the weaker lineups of the last several years. That said, Riot Fest is still probably my favorite festival lineup every year and there's plenty of bands on here I'd love to see.

off topic but this Punk in Drublic situation is crazy. First they lost Stone Brewery as main sponsor, now NOFX & Me First have been pulled off the bill and replaced with Decendents & The Vandals. Im crushed at no me first, but vandals are a all time top 10 band so i cant be toooo bothered by the switch. The decision to pull them is sort of understandable... i guess..., not sure how i feel yet as someone getting ready to spend all day in a car tomorrow to go to this.. but as far finding last minute replacements, got to commend them on who they managed to get!

As someone that likes the Descendents and Vandals more than NoFX and Me First, I am now pretty bummed that I'm not going.

Why are people shocked that NOFX said something insulting?

There's a lot of bands this year that I'd never really go out of my way to see on their own, but I'm excited to see them here for sure. Examples being Beck/YTG/Bleachers/Dropkick. Wouldn't call myself a huge fan of any of those bands, but I still enjoy their music and I'm super excited that I get a chance to see them!

I'm all about this line-up! It doesn't pack the same "surprise" factor the last few years have, and I was expecting it to but... This is a consistently strong line-up from top to bottom. Picked up my pass today, and I'm in the process of booking a flight. Super curious about who that series of ???? is in that headlining slot is..

Must-Sees: Blink-182, Beck, Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Interpol, Blondie, Alkaline Trio, Atmosphere, Cypress Hill, Bad Religion, Matt & Kim, K.Flay, the Wonder Years, Liz Phair, Superchunk, Lagwagon, the Aquabats, Face to Face, the Bouncing Souls, Dillinger Four, Cobra Skulls, Speedy Ortiz, the Fever 333, Direct Hit!, the Bombpops

Would Watch If A "Must-See" Isn't Happening: Incubus, Dropkick Murphys, Bleachers, Flogging Molly, Sum-41, the Jesus Lizard, the Front Bottoms, Suicidal Tendencies, Gary Numan, Digable Planets, Killing Joke, Wolfmother, SMWRS, Pussy Riot, Andrew W.K., GWAR, Kevin Devine, the Frights, Arkells, Mom Jeans, Bully

While Beck isn't a must see for me, and I do like his newer stuff, if he sticks to his earlier stuff it'll be right up my wheelhouse.

A final Chicago appearance from Blondie definitely bumps them up to my must see list.

Hmm... I don’t see Incubus on there. Maybe they were originally supposed to be second wave

Those two bands are so tonally different these days that I just can't see it happening. I think if it was gonna happen it would've had to of been around The greatest Generation/Talon of the Hawk years.

But man if it did happen I would experience every emotion I've ever had in one night.
