Arkansas would probably be a good place to camp or other outdoor activities. There's not much else worthwhile though

I've been to Florida and there's plenty of beaches in MI that I much prefer to any that I went to in FL

I spent a week at an uncle's beach house at lake superior up in the NP it was very nice, so pretty there. must have been like 13 years ago.

 

I feel fiercely protective of Florida the same way I’m sure (some lol) of you do about where you live.

I do have to say what I think it was James said about public records has a huge part to do with it. Other states have just as much crazy, it’s just kept hush hush.
I’m just saying there’s a reason why everyone vacations here. Because people want to come here. We got a lot to offer

 

If I had no kids, wife, responsibilities keeping me here in NY I'd be going back to Cali LL Cool J style. I wish my parents never moved us from there. I feel like because I was younger I didn't appreciate the small things, like waking up to palm trees outside my window. I get severe seasonal depression in winter.

 

California is definitely one of my favorite places I've visited. Was absolutely beautiful

 

I'm defensive over Dallas but only because I love most cities and vouch for most cities and then people in those cities are like "Fuck Dallas" and I'm like I JUST STOOD UP FOR YOU MOTHERFUCKER

And many of these beaches are short drives from state forests where there is anything outdoorsy you want to do: trails for hiking/biking, camping, sand dune rides, etc.

This doesn't touch on it being a top 5 wine producer in the country, top 5 beer producer in the country, has one of the largest supplies of fresh grown fruits/veggies in the country, one of the best art competitions in the world that lasts over a month and draws artists and sculptors from all over the world. Easy access to Canada, Chicago. Michigan is gorgeous and Florida is uninhabitable in the summer due to the humidity. I will go to bat for Michigan every day of the week, despite wanting to leave the state.

People vacation there to escape the winter lol. It's warm in the winter months and that's about it.

 

Yeah if anyone wants to see an example of some bad beaches come to Texas
