Ahh gotcha. Yeah, I'm in the US. That explains why I've never seen it on there.

I wonder when that Disney streaming service starts. I really want to watch Rebels.

Do you need cable verification for that app?

  7. Late to the comparison discussion, but TLJ is easily the best of the Disney-SW films. I like them all, though.

"We are all over it and will spend a lot of time digging into why things happened the way they did in various markets. We have a year and a half before Episode IX comes out." - Disney’s distribution chief Dave Hollis

So they’re at least aware of the problem.

It’s so dumb that they even have to address it.

Did Marvel have to make a statement when “Doctor Strange” or “Thor: The Dark World” didn’t do well in week one, during a way less competitive weekend?

Its not fresh enough on my mind for that, but I enjoyed all of it enough.

The movies got issues but I didnt take issue with the pacing though. Alot of these movies feel like they just take off sprinting and do so for the whole runtime. Thats exhausting to me alot of the time.

The first two acts of Rogue One are very flat and kind of boring. The third act is a phenomenal spectacle! But when the most human character is a droid and ultimately the only one you care about dying you have a big problem in your movie.

Anytime I rewatch it I’m just waiting for the third act to start. Not that there aren’t moments I like in acts 1/2, but there’s nothing incredible. But they are the weakest Star Wars film acts that Disney has made.

Rogue One would be a C+, maybe B-, except the ghastly CGI Peter Cushing honestly keeps me away from ever wanting to give it another shot. Both on a philosophical level and a literal visual one.

yeah I remember you saying this before.

Ive always felt that SW characters were not the series’ strongest ingredient.

but yes Rey and Kylo are about as interesting a SW character as they come. Finn too in TFA.

I like ROs philosophy more than any other SW

I thought Leia looked waaaaay more jarring.

I meant the philosophical morality of making a CGI Peter Cushing

She did, but it was only a couple seconds of her vs Cushing being a consistent presence. Both were bad.

There is nothing horrible about it, just nothing exciting or memorable either. It’s a competent movie, clearly made by professionals. Just your standard vanilla Ron Howard film.
