i like the idea of having everyone just send me 1 new song from their EP/album, and then release the EP/album/whatever on their own page, and then I will make a post with everyone's individual EPs and shit.

 

in true Brad fashion, i've been really procrastinating this. i mean, i have like 5 or 6 new songs in different states of completion, but i'm definitely dragging my feet with actually recording the stuff/writing lyrics...

today, i plan on recording vocals to a song that i've had done for awhile now, and slap it on this EP, if it makes sense in context....

 

I have 30 seconds of material written for this but I’m still going to do it lmao

 

I have a bunch of songs written but I keep reusing different parts of them to make new songs :~/

 

AND WE'RE OFF! I just finished recording vocals and finishing up the first song for this EP!

 

I am so close now, I didn't think I was going get anywhere near the deadline, but now I just have to lay down vocals.

Picked up a pop screen today. Don't know how I went this long without one before... trying to put some vocals down tonight. Probably won't get another chance until next Monday.

 

Brad, have you considered trying to get these comps up on streaming services before?

 

i've thought a little about it. part of me thinks it'd be cool to do (especially originals) but i don't know the legality of putting up cover songs on streaming services like spotify and whatnot. could be interesting to look into... but also, it's not free. i don't want to front all the money for each compilation, and i don't want to ask for everyone to pitch an X amount of dollars either. so yeah, it'd be cool to make that happen one day, but i think it might be more of a pain than it's worth.

 

Distributors [CD Baby, Emu bands, whoever you choose to work through] take care of the legalities regarding cover songs. But yeah, the cost would be a good amount. It'd be cool to get a couple of the popular ones up there. I'd definitely chip in the 50 bucks to get something up there. Plus, then we can use the artist account to create playlists that advertise our bands.

 

I could upload it to streaming services for free but how would we go about splitting the pennies for everyone?

Me, except one week later

 

I wonder if I can sand, seal, texture, and paint drywall, install doors and floors, move all my studio furniture, update all my software/hardware, get at least one guitar tuned up, and record 5 songs before the seventh lol.

 

its weird I thought I had to go in to the next phase of recording with all the lyrics, and it halted my progress for a few days. I gave myself dumb tasks to procrastinate, like rearrange my room and then I got hammer drunk on sunday and I didn't really accomplish anything.

Then I went in today and I improv'd a neverending story reference and it seems to tie the last verse together hahaha

 

I is behind. Will try for a 3 song and hope for a 4

 

I'll try to submit 3, hopefully 4, Wednesday.

 

Music is finished. Just need to get some art made up. And a title.

 

I forgot all about this. Haha. I'll come up with a few things.

Every time I start working some it's after a few drinks and I accomplish stuff... sober me deletes it though.
