Remind me again why I looked at the comments on their Facebook page? Christ, the amount of hero worship and good-dude-backed-hard-ism in the metal scene never ceases to amaze me.

His statement also irks the fuck out of me, as someone on Zoloft themself. The fact you're blaming her depression and anxiety doesn't help the stigma. This is the kind of thing that makes me feel somewhat ashamed to have anxiety...ugh. Basically, it'd be nice for someone to actually come out with a constructive, apologetic statement as opposed to lashing out like this.

Edit: Metalsucks has an article up about this. TLDR - He's been anonymously accused of assault by two other women and has been fired from Phobia. TW - there are photos of the injuries from the assault to his original accuser that she posted on IG.

THRASH FKIN METAL THVRSDAY

Since I've been going through some older stuff I might have missed from that list I posted a few pages back, today's theme is songs/albums by some of the old guard that I just got around to.

Like this song from Overkill's 1985 album Feel The Fire:

I could never really get into Destruction as much as the other two Teutonic bands (because of the vocals) but there are definitely riffs everywhere in their discography:

Really digging the new song from The Lion’s Daughter, the artwork for this album looks so damn creepy but awesome at the same time.

Damn MØL were great tonight. I went to see Svalbard(who were obviously great and you should listen to their new album tomorrow) but MØL really blew me away.

 

lowkey disappointed The Lion's Daughter didn't stick with Paolo Girardi again for the artwork. Like, how do you MOVE ON from letting that insane genius do your artwork

Update on some of the releases that came out today. The Exmortus album is some pretty good tech thrash with lots of melody. It's like a less tech-y Revocation but with way more shredding and cheesy lyrics.

The Wayfarer album is interesting. Atmospheric black/folk metal with a western theme (as in American West). I like the idea, but nothing really gripped me in one listen. I'm intrigued enough to give it another few tries.

Lastly, pretty meh on the Micawber album. Earlier this year I was little hyped on them but the songs they released prior to the album are the best ones. Just feels like overly produced death metal with super monotone tough-guy vocals reminiscent of Within The Ruins (which does not get me excited).

Anyways, here are each of them in turn if anyone wants to give them a go.

Every djent band ever. Insanely talented dudes, super crisp song writing...but I don't think there's a single album I can go back to and be like "ya...this is it". Those closest would be After the Burial's In Dreams. And I'm a huge huge defender of djent.
