It definitely struck me as a kind of generic pop song and it's the only one I don't like so far.

I'd cut God's Plan through II and think this record were decent. I feel like Miracle is going to be their push, even though its very not good. Probably won't listen to this record much. Its a shame because Get Out is basically stuck in my head all the time.

Wonderland is good, the couple of tracks leading up to it are blatant filler

i like this. Deliverance is a weird one for me in that i don't love it sonically but i really dig the writing, feels like a different band almost.

I actually kinda liked God's Plan. Really Gone is a good one. I think the only thing I'd leave off is Miracle

Agree, loved his song on EOE but this one is the worst on the album by far

I wish this was more consistent and reached higher highs. EOE had zero bad songs and contains many of their best tracks. This has a few bad songs and zero of their best tracks and some of their worst. The good songs are pretty good though.

Overall not as good as the last album but still a decent record. I'm digging Forever and Graves the most. I'm a sucker for a big hook.

Was pretty bored by most of this on first listen, aside from the singles and the incredible last track

I don't know, I didn't pay attention to any of the build up to this album (besides My Enemy, which was...fine) so I came in with relatively low expectations. Probably a little long like others have said and nothing grabbed me as immediately as their prior stuff, but I still enjoy it.

Outside of Miracle, I really love this album. It's not EOE, but it doesn't need to be.

Never Say Die feels like Down Side of Me 2.0. In a really good way.

... I went back and listened to Down Side of Me, and now I'm not 100% confident in that comparison. That song absolutely slays. Never Say Die just gave me a similar vibe initially. Also my early favorite.

    A few thoughts:

    - I think the new album great, and it's too early to say whether I prefer it to 'Every Open Eye' , however I am enjoying as a whole a lot more .

    - The only song I don't think fits in context with this album is 'My Enemy', and as a fan of both CHVRCHES and The National it's tough to say that. As for 'ii', I read elsewhere that someone said it is very 'Seventeen Seconds' era The Cure and I completely agree and think that is the point of it (It very much resembles 'The Final Sound' into 'A Forest').

    - I couldn't stand 'Miracle' at first (due to sounding very Imagine Dragons) but Lauren's vocal performance on it is brilliant and after seeing it last night at the album release show in London, it cemented it as a great addition to their live sets.

It has been described as filler in some reviews and I find that highly offensive

Find it really strange that Miracle is disliked by many and Forever is preferred - Some odd people in the world!

unpopular opinion but i don’t think “deliverance” is v good

    yeah good okay Prestigious

After a few more listens, it just feels mediocre. Several of the songs are super repetitive (Get Out/Deliverance/Forever/Never Say Die), a few seem like filler (God's Plan/ii), and some are just a drag (Really Gone/My Enemy). The only songs I can get into are Graffiti, Graves, and Heaven/Hell. And none of those are as good as the best songs on EOE.
