It’s the one song I miss having Tom on. I swear one time during the breakdown Matt just kept strumming a single chord

Apparently this guy is a producer for some bands I hear of every now and then and he was talking shit.

I guess he must have deleted the rest of the tweets but they were:

But also a google search of him pulls up this: Panda Studios with Sam Pura: a bully’s ego and the recording experience I want to erase from my memory

    So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well if it wasn't good enough for the producer of the legendary Story So Far, guess I have to disown blink now. Ah well it was a good run. Lolol

I get where the dude is coming from. KOTW sounded awful. So many missed notes, the vocals, especially early on, were pretty bad... I found myself wanting to shut it off during the first verse. It got better as the song went on, but yikes man.

I am still stoked to see them at Bunbury soon! It's going to be a hell of a weekend.

  10. They didn’t kick anyone off the stage. Not punk enough.

I honestly think they got better as the performance went on if KOTW was the first song they played.

So this producer is mad that blink should be setting an example and being leaders to children? Ok then....

    Things have changed.

I mean, I don't disagree with him in the sense that the overall joy of the band onstage has definitely diminished since 1998-2002. But they're also all in their 40s now, so I don't know what he expects.

They might not be the best live act, fair enough. But it's one of those things where if I see an musician that has thousands of fans going crazy for them night after night (but I personally don't like it), I'm not going to go out of my way to try to talk people out of enjoying it... All of those fans are there for a reason whether you like it or not.

All I know is whenever I go to see blink live I have a great time. They don't and never have sounded like the greatest band in the world but I always get my money's worth.

Iron Maiden, Metallica and even Green Day are of a similar age or (much) older and still put in an energetic stage show. Age hasn’t got much to do with it.

Foo Fighters too. Hell Paul McCartney is almost 76 and has a more energetic show.

I think it's time for some people to start accepting that fact that getting older means not seeing the band through such rose colored glasses anymore and realizing without the distraction of Tom and Mark's chemistry, jokes and bits to distract you, they're just the average at best live band they've always been.

  23. Crappy pop punk. It's on their merch, yo.

    Bruce Springsteen.

I’ll give them this, rest of KOTW wasn’t bad besides the opening bit. And it was a TV hit - bands always look pretty awkward with zero crowd energy to feed off of.

The Cure are old and phenomenal live as well. Prince was blowing minds until the end. Obviously, blink are not the Cure or Prince. They're not Bruce Springsteen. They're not Green Day. They're competent enough to be fun live, all I really want is to hear a more diverse setlist.
