Polygon is such trash. They're bottom of the barrel. They censor anyone that has a differing opinion than them in their comments section, they have no journalistic integrity and their writers are glorified high school quality bloggers.

I understand that everyone is going to give their own bias in reviews and such because it is unavoidable, but the extremes most sites go to nowadays is frustrating. It's become so polarizing. Kotaku with their incessant opinion articles that often come off as "it isn't the game 'I' would have done" instead of valid criticisms on whatever they're writing about.

Sorry for the rant, I just get so frustrated because I like going somewhere where I can get news and have good conversation with people about things I'm passionate about like games, even if people disagree with me, but I can't go to IGN where the comments section screams out toxic and sexist comments.

 

Yeah I don't take most websites seriously. I'm just there for the news. Game informer's podcast is the only one I listen to, if at all. Polygon is kinda cringe sometimes, stopped liking Kotaku years ago.

 

I only like IGN's Game Scoop. The rest of the site can burn. Kotaku is a joke.

I hope he grew up and moved on from that. I remember him and notch constantly valiating each other and there trolling was pretty eye-roll worthy.

I picked up Detroit becoming human played It for a few hours so far and I really like it. I think the amount of choices you can make are crazy. They out did themselves this time

 

I'm so interested in the story but I'm not huge on interactive movie type games

honestly not too sure how i feel about bringing up shit people said in the past when they're dead and can't defend themselves. sure at the time his stance on GG at the time was shitty "centrism," but he's dead now so what does it even matter? everything else he did with his time in gaming community pretty heavily outweighs that and the couple times he was dumb on twitter

Quantic Dream is something strange for sure. While I've read multiple articles on the Ellen Page issue and have come to discover it was not her actual body and NOT photorealistic as that tweet says, I do understand why some people would be upset. Nude models aren't unheard of in gaming and it wasn't even an anatomically correct model of her.

I have much bigger problems with the accusations against Cage and the studio for blatant sexual harassment and toxic work environment.

I want to clarify that I'm not dancing on Total Biscuit's grave, I still think it's a sad awful thing. But when I see tweets like this

it's hard to ignore that he hurt others and one of my first thoughts is how it must feel to see all this praise going around for someone that made you feel such a way. I just hope he grew up and I'm sure he did, but the GG-stuff and twitter shenanigans were what turned me away from him in the first place so I can't speak to his more recent years. I feel deeply for his family and no one should have to suffer through cancer.

I also don't really believe in the total glamification that we do with the recently deceased but that's a whole nother subject I know that I'm also the minority of. I apologize for kinda throwing all this out there while it is still fresh though.

His "WTF is...?" series was pivotal for me finding games before I discovered Giantbomb so I owe him thanks for all the indies he pointed me to in that time period, and while I certainly didn't always agree with his analysis or how he went about things regarding GG,twitter, et.al I understand the effect he had on a wide swathe of people, and I shouldn't have downplayed that.

 

Yeah the nude model thing isn't the big issue for me, (Though it was kind of creepy that he supposedly kept a bunch of childhood photos of her around) The latter is really fresh and indamning though. I was a bit excited for the camp and 747's of subtle metaphors that would be detroit before all that news came out.
