It really drops off a bit at the end. I think some sequencing tweaks might have helped.

What would you sequence of the track listing be, and I'll listen to it in that order before my first run through of the official order

I think Really Gone is beautiful.

The interlude is rather unnecessary and they do better interludes live.

Wonderland feels like two different songs mashed together. The chorus is very 80’s Madonna / Cher and it rules, but then it’s followed by that goofy fast K-pop part.

Really Gone and Wonderland are two of my favourites. Not really sure what the point of ii is though.

Man nothing grabs me at all like some of the songs on the last album. Feels like 3 songs too long. Hopefully it grows on me.

  14. Don't like it as much as their last album, but this is enjoyable on first listen. Get Out is my favorite track.

There's some duds on here, but for the most part I really enjoy this. Grafitti, Never Say Die, Heaven/Hell and Deliverance are the stand outs for me.

If Love Is Dead, then why do I feel this way about this album?

Initial reaction is that it's not as horrible as those singles had made me fear, but there's also not a single song here I have any desire to return to, nothing that grabbed me on the first listen. Also not surprising to me that the songs I enjoyed most were the ones produced by the band themselves-- and that's not a slight against Kurstin necessarily, I just don't think they pull off the transition into full-fledged pop outfit very well. Even those three or four songs produced by the band would still far and away be lesser works in their oeuvre. But I guess that's my big issue with the album: none of what I found appealing about Chvrches is really present here. There are flashes of it, but ultimately, this just falls flat and feels pretty generic to me.

Happy for those who seem to be enjoying it, and I hope this achieves whatever the band was aiming for, but I'm just not really into it. I hate to be that guy, and I understand the need for a band to grow and change, but I just really loved that dark/creepy pop vibe that they developed at the beginning of their career. That's more or less gone now, though I felt there were a lot more (interesting) places they could have gone with that sound.

Anyway, just wanted to get my first thoughts out there. I'll take my leave for the people who are digging it now.

I somehow missed Never Say Die during the singles being released.

    Easily my favorite Chrvches song.

Probably in the minority here but Every Open Eye is far and away my favourite Chvrches album - Even though I love Bones too

First listen is a bit meh, but hoping that familiarity breeds contentment
