Phase 2 has 2000 cap. NorVa and The National are 1500. The extra 500 for a market that realistically is 2 and a half hours from Greensboro and 3 and a half from Northen VA doesnt make it that much different than Richmond. It's also definitely more accessible than Norfolk on the southeast side of the state.

Like I said, that's great for the market, and it's cool that there's a venue that size in Lynchburg, but Greensboro people are more likely to go to Raleigh and NOVA people will go to the Baltimore for this shindig...I just don't see this drawing well there unfortunately. I know perspectives are subjective, but l would not have traveled from either Harrisonburg or the 757 (the two places I've lived in Virginia) for this lineup.

Yeah it’s definitely a weird choice for a big venue because it’s far for EVERYONE. Almost every major city is still at least 2 hours away, some even more. I see it as a weird grey area and I’m very curious to watch how most shows do there.

That's a good point, I understand where you are coming from. I think there is potential for Baltimore and Raleigh to get part of this audience. Especially Raleigh due to the BTBAM draw. Also VOM was on the UO tour so Lynchburg has sorta already seen that band.

hey i’m fine with more shows coming to lynchburg which is only an hour away instead of charlottesville or greensboro which are the next closest options for me at 2 hours. phase 2 is an okay venue, i wish it was a little better

are enough kids into the summer slaughter lineup that weekday shows that start at 2pm will actually be attended?

based on this lineup, i'm officially too old to answer this question now because i have no idea what hot metalcore shit the kids are into nowadays.

Allegaeon, Soreption, and Entheos are all great so I hope so. Also those are the only Death Metal bands on the lineup so I think diehards of that genre will come out early if they can.

I'll probably go this year. I'm super stoked that The Agony Scene reunited. Their self-titled from 2003 is a great Metalcore album.

i mean, are those bands that people young enough to not be working, or people would decide to take off work, would go and see?

i'm more just genuinely curious, i know nothing about these bands or this tour or anything

warped at least caters to high school/college kids that won't have to take work off or anything

Entheos has a decent amount of hype right now. Soreption is popular with older Death Metal fans. I don't know anything about Terror Universal. Even The Agony Scene reunion is very niche. I see the venues being pretty empty until Erra plays.

Phase 2 website claims 1000 cap, I was there last month for Trivium and '68 and it's kinda open but it's not super large and the balcony is some upgrade you have to buy.

It's the summer, so they'll definitely have people there all day. I went to Summer Slaughter a few years ago, and there was a pretty decent crowd before the first band went on.

I think if anything, what's going to hurt attendance here is that a lot of the bands on this have already toured together in the past year. Born of Osiris and Erra were support for the August Burns Red tour at the start of the year, Allegaeon and Enthos were on the Rings of Saturn tour a couple months back, I think Veil of Maya and Erra did something together in the past year. I mean I guess The Agony Scene might be a draw for people.
