Great point. I didn’t know it was out this fall until watching Jedi Council. Awesome.

Prob should take this w/ a grain of salt but I figured I should post it anyway (sorry, no where else to post):

    Kenobi in pre-production atm

The project is sufficiently along that an art department is now in full pre-production mode at Pinewood Studios, England with ancillary work being carried out at Industrial Light & Magic in London. A number of concept artists, prop modellers, and storyboard artists are working as a team across the two locations on the film, with the group growing in numbers every month.

Contracts have also been extended to a number of crew who have worked on various Star Wars films produced at Pinewood under the Disney era, to join the production when their work on Episode IX ends. This will see the Obi-Wan crew grow gradually over the remainder of the year but primarily from October on wards.

Pre-production will continue at Pinewood whilst Episode IX shoots from this summer through the end of the year, at which point production of the Obi-Wan movie has been scheduled to move onto stages in mid January 2019 with the main shoot to begin in April of 2019.

The project is being developed under the corporate name of PLT Productions (UK) Ltd.

The scheduled release date is December 2020.

Someone showing up to a premier means absolutely nothing haha. If true though, I'm excited. After that I hope that's the last OT character we see get a spinoff.

Yeah, and there’s no guarantee he’s going to actually show. If he does show up though, I think they are all smart enough to know that it will get people talking.

No but I heard it does kind of give away some spoilers. Idk how impactful they will be though. I’m waiting until after

I used to think I wanted to watch everything tv/movie related in Star Wars canon... I think I'll be okay never watching any of those.

Has anyone been to Celebration? It’s in Chicago next year (which is a bit of a surprise) and I really want to go. I’ve never been... need to start saving now ha

I went when it was in Orlando. It’s exhausting but amazing. I camped out for the Last Jedi Panel and that’s when Rian Johnson came out and talked to fans for 3 hours at midnight. 5 day passes will probably be around $250 with single days being around $80

If it was in Orlando, I’d be going for sure. For some reason, I had just assumed it was there and I was getting hyped for it. Don’t think I’ll make Chicago unfortunately.

Also I really dont give a shit about going alone to places, but I feel like this would be a weird thing to go to alone lol

lol understandable. Im just not sure what goes on at these things. Besides the Panels that I see on the live feed what goes on? Is it like a bunch of people trying to sell you stuff at booths and waiting hours and hours in lines?

I think the convention center there is the biggest in the country so maybe they would be able to fit more people into the bigger panels? Also is in April, so the weather will def be questionable.
It’s the last celebration with the sequel trilogy so I feel like I need to make it my mission to be there ha!

Haha it def looks like it’s a lot of waiting in line, esp for the bigger panels as well as for exclusives (like Lego or Funko if that’s your thing). Supposedly, they are changing the line system so hopefully it will be more efficient.
I have to imagine that they will have some big stuff for Episode 9, the Disney park additions since those are opening that same year, Resistance, Tv shows, maybe other film properties. They have stuff on the music, special effects, I think Hasbro does a panel, live podcasts, exhibitions that include props and costumes, etc.

I ended up going alone and it was better than you’d expect because everyone was just so friendly and wanting to talk.

The panels are the big thing but the official store and booths are really cool. Autographs are the other big ticket item because they get almost everyone. I was lucky enough to get Mark Hamill’s autograph and will probably try for Ashley Eckstein and maybe Ewan if he’s in Chicago. There’s also a lot of cool displays and you don’t have to spend that much time in line if you only have a few things you really need to do and plan well.
