I have to say regardless of your motivation, seeing people with BN shirts in public can be deeply, deeply upsetting for a lot of people and make them feel unsafe. Random people who don't know your motivations for wearing the shirt will have to assume you still support them and having to share a space with a potential rape apologist (and there's pretty much no line between rape apologist and a potential rapist) triggers a fight or flight response in anyone who's been/is on the receiving end of rape culture. And even if they don't want to assume the tshirt wearer is a supporter of JL, it's hard not being nervous and not feeling unsafe just at the possibility of it.
So yeah, think of the repercussions on the people around you who might have been affected by the situation

I didn’t forget, hence the receipts and full context. I spoke out of turn, recognized that I offended people, explained my feelings more fully, and ceased that conversation as I was in the wrong.
