There’s a place in Florida where people know how to drive?

 

Imagine my surprise. My last car was totaled in February by a person going 20mph in a 40 who without warning or signal made a right from the left lane as I was passing.

 

And @CarpetElf you don’t have to give Florida credit where it’s due if you dont want to, but I am the guy who is even giving Blake Bortles the benefit of the doubt — St Pete is legit cool. Lots of attention to local art and business, great nightlife vibe that has something for everyone, not too expensive to live in, urban but spacious and not too congested, etc

And surprisingly less sticky and horribly hot than Jax, that bay breeze was nice. Prettier trees/nature too.

It’s bougie and nothing is cheap and it’s pretty far down into FL which sucks for traveling and storm evacuation. BUT I found a lot to like about it.

The complex layout of bridges / raised highways everywhere and two city skylines lit up beautifully made night driving really fun.

St Pete being almost as big as Tampa was a neat surprise. Did not expect. I thought it’d just be people’s houses and a beach strip.

Idk he looked fine when we won a road playoff game this past January. Not sure if you remember?

 

If getting back only half what the car is worth to you, and having your car insurance go double, counts as “compensation”. Is negative compensation a thing?

Granted the insurance thing was my choice, there was just no way around that considering I bought the new car from my mom at an unrealistically low price. Probably is still the best option cost wise even with the insurance on a V6 sports edition sedan. I would have had to buy something much shittier with that check USAA gave me otherwise.

Florida insurance is nuts (most expensive state in the country actually — Florida drivers really are that bad that actually a thing).

 

He looked competent against a bad defense. Tebow beat the Steelers in the playoffs. So what?

 

Mark Sanchez had some really good games in the playoffs too.

 

Hell, Matt Moore looked good in the playoffs

 

lm just not too hurt about a fan of a team we beat twice saying our QB sucks *shrug* totally inconsequential to me considering he performed decent to well in 11 of our 12 wins. People exaggerate his negative impact on the team because his development was ugly but there has been a ton of improvement lately.

He definitely has awful games but so do a lot of QB who don’t get nearly as much scrutiny.

 

Solid counterpoint but that’s hindsight. Had I told you he sucked right after losing the AFC champ game to the Patriots you would have fought me tooth and nail.
