Oh I thought you said it wasn't a promotion after all?

Any particular reason why?

 

Yeah. It’s honestly the biggest slap in the face I’ve ever had in my career or education...despite still being a promotion. It’s weird.

 

It wasn’t the promotion promised to get me to interview. They’re offering me a position paying $13,000 a year less than the one they told me they wanted me to interview for. It basically equates to an extra $26-$40 a week than I make now with quadruple the responsibility.

 

Don’t do that :(

 

I talked to the guy in our store who had that position before he got promoted and he said I should 100% not do it with my combined experience.

So we’ll see what happens with the offer. There’s a very tiny chance I could still get the other job. But. Eh. Fuck retail.

 

Ah the joy of retail "promotions" gotta love those.

Sorry bud, hope it works out for you and maybe another ACTUAL promotion will turn up for you.

 

What’s weird is that as a position goes, it’s a brand focused position. I’m the best brand guy in the district. But sales numbers dictate management even when it’s not a sales position. Yay.
