9/11 is for sure the first tragedy I can remember and I don’t remember much from when I was 6. Like I actually remember that morning before going to school which is crazy, my mom’s friend called her and told her to turn on the news.

I am 28. I grew up five blocks from MacDill AFB which is the hub for all US Mideast operations. My best friend (or whatever that means age 0-4) was the daughter of a colonel so I spent a lot of time on base during the war.
