Batman Returns is a really strong mood- and aesthetic-driven project.

Spider-Man 2, on the other hand, doesn't work well when viewed w/out rose-colored glasses. Lots of good stuff in there, but awful leads, and poor narrative thrust.

I stopped scrolling after Spider-Man 3 was above Ultron, Infinity War and both Amazing Spider-Man movies

I’m sorry my opinions aren’t the same as yours

Honestly though outside of the top 20-ish I don’t think any of the rest are particularly good

Haha well once it's down that low it gets fuzzy and I your list is pretty accurate, agree about where the quality drops off in general. Ultron was pretty forgettable. And I just can't rank Infinity War yet, only seen it once.

Spider-Man 3 is better than the ASM movies though, to be fair. Or, at least it's more entertaining to watch because of how weird it is. The ASM movies are just plain not good. Especially ASM2, ugh. Probably the angriest I've ever left a movie theater in my life.

    I do not exist.

Although they were a mess, I enjoyed both ASM and ASM2 to an extent. There have been worse superhero films.

[Obligatory "if I just want a taste of actual Spider-Man, ASM2 has the most to offer" post.]

ASM 1&2 are two of the best superhero movies

Hard to find any two people in any other CBM that has the chemistry Garfield and Stone had

That’s true. It’s too bad the dialogue was empty and Peter was a manipulative stalker who felt an ownership over Gwen in those movies.

I thought Boseman and Nyong'o had pretty good chemistry in Black Panther

ASM2 is Batman and Robin level bad lol, so corny and stupid. It has so much potential to be so much more. Jamie Foxx as Electro could’ve been amazing and ended up being one of the worst written villains ever. Just an utter failure that deserved to be buried and forgotten.

This is one of the worst things I've heard all day. The Tobey films had a nice charm and the villains were great, as well as Tobey being Peter. The ASM films had horrible villains, no charm and horrible writing. The only redeemable aspects of ASM was Garfield as Spider-Man and Emma Stone.

you're in a cult, call your dad

Despite being a comic lover and superhero fan, I never really followed the MCU due to a lack of interest in the core Avengers (Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man). I love Spider-Man, X-Men, all that, but those guys never pulled me as a kid.

With that being said, my wife and I decided to start from the beginning and watch every MCU movie leading up to IW and my opinions have TOTALLY CHANGED. Love every character now and seeing them all on-screen together in this movie was so enthralling!! Especially on the tail-end of seeing literally every film in sequential order over the span of 2 weeks.

I can't wait for A4 and I'm REALLY hoping we don't lose the core team in that storyline. I love consequences and grit and emotion and such, but as lame as it may sound, I love these stories for the heroes because damn if we don't need some heroes to root for in this world, fictional or not.

I do agree some of these deaths need to stick (pre-snap, at least), but I wanna see the gang back together in full force and kicking butts. (Especially Spider-Man and the Guardians, those hit me HARD.)
