Top 5 2019 QB Prospects

Justin Herbert - Oregon
Will Grier - West Virginia
Tyree Jackson - Buffalo
Nick Fitzgerald - Mississippi State
Jake Bentley - South Carolina

Incredibly weak QB class in 2019. Just a lot of developmental prospects with solid upside. Shea Patterson could easily get to the top of this list, but there isn't enough on him to make a fair evaluation. I don't like Drew Lock. I think he's incredibly overrated. Jarrett Stidham is one of the more overrated prospects for me right now as well.

Baker Mayfield going #1 is huge for a player like Will Grier, but he still has a lot to prove.

Tyree Jackson is my dude. Big, fast, cannon arm, and he throws a really nice deep ball. Anthony Johnson might be the best receiver in the country. He'll put a lot of eyes on Jackson this season.

Air Raid QBs are very popular in NFL scouting circles because a lot of those concepts are showing up in the NFL now.

Do we have a QB that anybody envies? Absolutely not. But I'm not seeing a whole lot of better options that weren't restrictively expensive (Cousins, Smith, trading up from 29 to the top 10, next year's QB class sucks, etc.)

 

I saw some verified accounts, maybe even allbright say right now teams think he's more of a system guy so he isn't in some gms top 5s right now. I thought he was pretty good and I watched a good amount of wvu, haven't dived in like Anton though.

 

Lamar Jackson literally fell to where Jacksonville could have taken him and it wouldn’t have been restrictively expensive

 

18m/yr is the Brock Osweiler contract so hopefully the results are the same

 

I'm not sure Herbert will come out this year because his receivers are awful and he might want to play with his brother. We have a friggin year, we'll see.

 

There's no one in this class that's really going to help you right now. There's three or four players that can develop into something pretty special.

Clayton Thorson may get overdrafted because he'll be seen as "pro-ready" - he's solid, but not an overly exciting prospect. I could see him having an Andy Dalton like career.
