Plus Chicago wouldn't be in a radius clause for Columbus

It does say leg one of the tour and with ATL playing Lolla they may be holding off until spring or something? But I could also easily see Dashboard doing Riot

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Would only suggest Dashboard's chances of playing. ATL is playing Lolla.

That 101WKQX Piqniq show isn't selling well... There's still GA pit tickets available up, and like half of the amphitheatre seats are still available. Yikes.

If Riot were to announce Dashboard that'd be another ding.

Oh yea I forgot about that. But that's actually typical for that show, I don't think it normally sells all that great.

I think it's more likely that Dashboard and ATL are doing another leg of this tour later in the year or early next year that will include Chicago and Milwaukee.

Isn't the rule 350 mile radius for Rock on the Range? Because driving distance from each other is 357, which is pretty close, especially for a major music festival.

I don't think so that's pretty large, but even so it's usually 90 days after.

Consequence of Sound did a write-up on this back in 2015, and there's a real nice image along with the article that shows what Lolla's radius clause of 300 miles impacts. The radius clause may have changed since then, but Rock on the Range is squarely in there.

Wax Idols is in Chicago on 9/9, so count them out.

Well, that article that said Skating Polly was playing definitely was just confused with them having played last year. They are in the UK Riot Fest weekend. I never understood why the subreddit took that article as gospel when it wasn't an interview with the band and was just by somebody in Indianapolis that probably doesn't have any connections with anyone at Riot Fest to know the lineup that long before it is released. Reading the subreddit really drives me nuts sometimes.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Smoking Popes was added to 350 Fest, so we can count them out.

Fingers-crossed that after the North Coast announcement today we get the Riot Fest announcement coming quickly on its heels. A Thursday announcement isn't out of the question (fingers crossed)...

The Internet, in general, tends to run with things... I'm all for speculation (and have engaged in that fully), but I'm usually pretty careful to say "I think" or whatever.

I engaged with one person on there who said they definitely knew the line-up was coming last week (like, definitively). After some pressing, it turns out? They're just connected with an organization that's working with the festival and they were asked to provide a logo or something for an upcoming announcement. No date tied to it or whatever, they just assumed it was coming that week. But they stated it like it was a fact.

Since we are close to the lineup release. What are your final predictions for the three headliners?

The more that gets announced of this, the more tempted I am to go.

Yeah, my problem isn't with speculation, that is fun. But I just never got why they considered them confirmed based on that article. And I think the main problem with reading the subreddit is that my musical tastes are far different than a lot of people on there. So then I see someone try to say that an Operation Ivy reunion (which probably isn't happening anyway) wouldn't headline over A Perfect Circle. At Riot Fest! And then my head just explodes.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

All these typical Riot-style bands touring this summer or playing elsewhere means we are going to get some wild choices or some deeeeeeeeep cut bands. That makes me very excited.

Tool, Blink-182, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Not my ideal, but feels like it's realistic/likely...

I mean, at Rock on the Range... A Perfect Circle aren't even get billed over fucking Alice in Chains. On the flip side of the coin, there's people saying that a bunch of 80s hardcore bands would have a spot on the bill. They could but you aren't going to have more than 2-3 of those per year based on the stage slotting alone.

Related: Nothing would make me happier than an Operation Ivy reunion. I don't know why, but that one stupid (probably-means-nothing) Instagram story got me all amped. It feels like it could be viable as a one-time thing. I don't know that Jesse has ever flat-out said "NO!" in recent years. Just that it would be a logistical pain to do a tour... And it wasn't until recently that doing it as a one-time thing at a "cool" festival was even an option. Shrug.

My buddy works at a big professional services firm in Chicago and sent me a photo of a conference room in their building that had "Riot Fest" labelled on the door. No, he didn't infiltrate the meeting and make off with the lineup.

What's the implication here? Press conference? Are they going to write the line-up on a fucking presentation pad or whatever again? Haha. God, I hope not...

It's pretty simple: if Tool headline, my girlfriend and I are coming to Chicago. If not, another year without my first RF experience.
