pretty sure every time I've seen them (or almost every time), they've said something about keeping each other safe.

I really didn't take to this band's first album but with all the buzz surrounding Holy Ghost, I think it's time I give it a go. Sounds like a very interesting record and after reading some lyrics, I knew I needed to give them another chance.

I love these guys and their music, and it's a great idea in theory, but considering what's been going on with bands and their tour managers over the last year or so hopefully it doesn't do more harm than good. I think having a hotline directly to someone working for the venue/event security would be a much better idea, although that would be on the venues to set up, not the bands.

Still though, glad to see them taking these kinds of steps. Love the new album.

Stuff like this makes me like the band as people a lot, even if their music doesn't do all that much for me.

It does go to venue security as well as the TM.

So this is my first post on this site (long time reader, first time caller). Modern Baseball have been one of my favourite bands for a while now despite me not liking them from first lesson but this album is totally my album of the year. Main reason I'm posting however is to alert attention to how shitty some people are on Alternative Press' Facebook page posting about the hotline trying to act like macho tough guys giving the band shit for having a hotline? Who gives shit to a band for having a hotline for their fans and not say anything when other bands in the scene sexually harass fans??

  10. "funny thing about acceptance is that it works both ways. They call it a pit for a reason so people could push and shove. If you're afraid of being raped stay by the guards or show up in a group."

Direct fucking quote from their instagram post. Horrifying.

Hell yeah, good for them. Makes me want to go to this show and support them even more.

How is it commonplace that people say to avoid people that should show up well protected? They shouldn't even have to cater to those people who go to shows to act like terrible person rather than those who want to avoid being treated terribly to macho assholes who go to shows to take advantage

  15. If you're opening up a "pit" at a Modern Baseball show ... you're bad at life.

  16. Probably the kind of people that are awful to others at shows and don't wanna get booted for being douchebags. Just my guess.

Eh, they are a pop punk band basically, if you'd open one up at a TWY show you'd do one at a mobo show
Not saying I would, I hate pits, but it's more justifiable than the people that mosh to fucking Pity Sex or some shit

stop what? I'm only saying that it's pretty normal for people to mosh at a pop punk show. It's stupid, but normal

  20. I said it was stupid. That was literally my entire post. Stop it.

It's ridiculous that I'm having to defend my (completely right in every way) opinion right now that people shouldn't sexually assault others at shows over on Facebook right now. I've been out and got drunk with my friends and I'm still talking more sense on Facebook than the sober macho guys who think it's pointless to have a hotline to help those who feel uncomfortable.

Moshing isn't the problem. I broke my glasses seeing Modern Baseball live in London where I live, that's fine I don't mind that. When a person from the crowd goes on stage and tries to make out with Brendon, that's a line too far. Mosh to acoustic songs, mosh to whatever you want that's totally fine. The hotline is made to stop those taking advantages of fans.

  23. There's quite a few reasons I barely use Facebook these days ... hah, this is one of them.

That doesn't have to do with my post, I think the hotline is the greatest idea and when Speedy first said it I posted it everywhere and was ridiculously excited. All I'm saying is moshing to most of a Modern Baseball set isn't necessarily stupid/unusual even if it's nothing I would ever take part in

I don't even like this band, though their moves lately have made me gain some massive respect for them

I apologize if I came off quite aggressive there, like I said I've had a few to drink so I'm misreading a lot of stuff haha. Glad we agree that the hotline is a good idea though, I totally agree that they're taking the right step forward in making sure their fans can enjoy the shows. Again, sorry if I came off aggressive just been having to defend myself against people who think the band are acting like, and I quote, "babies" with the hotline
