I thought it was sadly ironic. People have been wanting punk back on Warped Tour for years, and when they finally got it with last year's lineup, they didn't even bite.

The crowds for most of the bands at the Pomona date were pretty small, which kind of came as a surprise to me since SoCal is the mecca of that type of music. TSOL and Adolescents had slightly small crowds, and Strung Out must've had 40-50 people there total for their set. It was kind of a bummer to see considering Strung Out is one of my favorite bands from the 90's wave of punk, but at the same time it was kind of fun because it felt like we had our own little private Strung Out gig (even though they started late and Jason showed up half-way through their set, lmao).

Could be that a lot of people who like that type of music didn't want to pay the $50 to see those bands play half-hour sets, which is kind of understandable.

 

How do you find that out?

Go to the venue when you're in the area or Little Caesars arena, they have them there.

 

You know what I just realized? If that whole "surprise Blink appearance in Pomona" thing ends up being true, does that mean we get a Mark Hoppus feat. when Simple Plans plays I'd Do Anything?

 

I THOUGHT I HEARD MARK IN THAT SONG! I thought I was going crazy but I never knew he literally was featured, I thought it was just production or something!

Do you guys think there’s any chance of Sum 41 announcing more Warped dates once their headliner is done? I know it won’t be the full tour because they’re doing a festival in Canada a few days before their Toronto warped stop but maybe just some additional dates would be cool

 

I would hazard a guess that they probably will do at least a couple other dates.

I don't think so--but they have a big year next year with shows, so there will be that.

Nice, I hope some dates sell out this year. I have a feeling Denver might too, since they have all of Colorado to draw, and then also people from Wyoming, Nebraska, possibly even Idaho, plus now people from New Mexico since Warped isn’t returning there this year. and it’s in the Pepsi Center parking lot instead of Mile High stadium like past years so I’m pretty sure that’ll be smaller

 

A lot of people have noted the smaller venues this year. I think after last year, Kevin assumed that this year wasn’t gonna do so well either. But with it being the last Warped ever, and a more Warped crowd-friendly lineup, it’s gonna do much better than last year

 

Do we think Mayday Parade will play this new stuff or keep it a primarily a nostalgia-heavy set?

 

I think Ventura currently has the highest drawing special guests too. All time low, taking back Sunday, the used, and black veil brides probably brought in a lot of those people

 

A mix of both. Last Warped aside, they're releasing a new record and want to promote it, for sure.

 

Some of us in western Colorado go to the SLC date, which is closer to parts of Wyoming and Idaho, too.

 

I ran into Kevin on Friday night at an Audiotree show in Toronto. Shook my hand and spoke to me for 5-10 minutes about the tour and his other fest It's Not Dead. Super nice guy.

 

We'll probably only get one new song in the set, more than likely. The set will probably look something like

Every year they only do 7 songs. Only other songs I can see getting put in there in replacement of these choices are Kids in Love and Three Cheers.
