Okay cool. I thought one was left out. Still think the original is the best. I actually just learned today that the original cover art was actually printed and used on an advance CD before it was changed.

 

Why did they change it again?

 

copyright issues I think.

 

They bumped the release for physical to mid-September instead of the planned late October and as a result, they couldn't get the copyright clearance. If they hadn't bumped it up, it would have had that art.

 

I think i've only listened to one song from Thrice, the one that goes 'i want it aaaaall, and it's the reason why i sing". Or something like that. I really liked that song. What album should i listen to get more familiar with the band?

 

Wow i just looked it up and it wasn't even a Thrice song, it was Give It All by Rise Against. Nevermind, i'm dumb. I'll see myself out.

Give The Artist In The Ambulance, especially the title track, a listen if you like Rise Against :)

 

I feel dumber now realizing i have actually listened to that song before. I definitely haven't listened to the album, i'll give it a shot!

 

My cousin's top two fave bands are Thrice and Rise Against. I'm sure you're about to dive in and discover you love Thrice.

 

Oh God. It's so close. I have a nice two hour drive coming up on Friday, and I plan on just blasting this record the whole time.

 

So what does everybody think? I'm not listening to it until an official stream is available, or it's officially available for purchase tonight. My vinyl still hasn't shipped unfortunately :\ I was really hoping to get my new hoodie this weekend lol

 

It's pretty poor. If you're a fan of songs like "How You Remind Me" and "I Hate Everything About You" you may get some mileage out of it though.

i don't think my headphones can go loud enough for this. Hurricane is EPIC.

 

I can't decide if Hurricane or Salt and Shadow is my favorite track. Both are huge in such different ways.

 

the singles really weren't representative of how epic this album is, and i like the singles more in the context of the album.

 

Agreed. I'm hoping that casual fans won't dismiss the record based on, "Black Honey," alone. It's the only song on the album that I don't particularly care for. The rest is near perfect.

Such an amazing record. I've had it on all day while writing a paper and it is making it really hard to concentrate haha. Salt and Shadow is damn near perfect, best song they've put out since Beggars for sure. Not sure if I like it more than Beggars the song yet, I'll give it time to settle.

Got my download in my email an hour or two and I'm on my second listen now. I can already say this is a fantastic record. Can't wait for the Los Angeles show on the 3rd. It's going to be amazing.

 

Whistleblower exploded my brain. This is literally my favorite type of Thrice song, and it does what it does SO well. Oh my goodness....

 

I was waiting for that 5/4 chorus!! I think there has been 5/4 somewhere on every record since artist

 

Someone with some audio editing skills should edit Salt and Shadow to loop perfectly with Hurricane.
