My thoughts when I read some of the heinous posts in here.

 

This is what I was waiting for. Now that was an episode.

 

Prob my fave episode yet.

 

I’m confused though...I thought ford took over and not William? So who is in control for real?

 

entirely predictable but i’m glad they didn’t drag it out all season like s1

he controlled him numerous times in s1

 

He’s asking if he’s currently under his control, not if he ever could control him.

 

Wasn’t thrilled about Elsie being alive all this time. Confusing as to why Ford would let her live and have Bernard keep her hostage/alive when he showed no remorse towards any other single employee of the company he had Bernard kill.


Other than that, this episode was awesome. Some really interesting takes on camera angling, story reveals, etc. You could tell it was a different director from the first few episodes. The horror elements later in the episode added some great suspense too.

 

A little confused about the Jim Delos human/host hybrid they were working on. Is it just a host modeled after a real human, confined to a storyline written for them.....or is it the person's actual consciousness implanted in a host?

 

they said it was something different than a host. seems more akin to cloning/providing a body for eternal consciousness, that onviously didn’t pan out.

 

What a directorial debut by Lisa Joy.

Yeah, it was an actual human consciousness being transported to a host. But the issue, for whatever reason, was that the consciousness couldn't accept reality fully once it knew it was in a host. It is a really interesting take, and shows how William got to being a primary shareholder in the company.

 

Excellent stuff, really love the direction they are headed
