It is possible North Coast grabbed Limp Bizkit, but I'd say if Limp Bizkit doesn't show up on their lineup Tuesday, they're a lock for Riot.

What if Limp Bizkit is starting their own Chicago festival and calling it CHI-mp Bizkit & Gravy Fest?

Right? I'm hoping for later in the week... I feel like the crowd for North Coast vs. Riot fest probably doesn't overlap too much, so there's still a strong possibility that it comes next week. The Twitter account just keeps saying it will be "around the same time as usual."

    It's burnin' up my brain.

NC 2018 is looking like it'll have Jamiroquai, MGMT, and Vulfpeck. Out of the rumored lineup, it looks like those are the only artists that would have any crossover with Riot.

MGMT was not a good show when i saw them a few months ago.

They're on a US tour right now. I don't think they would come back across the pond just for a festival or two.

And it’s a really small short b market tour so a fall a market tour makes sense

Unless one of you is posting on the sub-reddit, somebody took that Limp Bizkit debacle and is running with it saying that people are declaring them a "lock."

    Sometimes, the Internet is awesome.

I hope they end up on RF. I haven't seen them in a long time.

I heard from a reliable source that an *NSYNC reunion is also a lock.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

With the All Time Low/Dashboard Confessional tour being rumored right now, anyone think those two have a chance of being on the lineup?

Or is ATL pretty much out since they have Lollapalooza in the summer?

All Time Low doing Lolla takes them out, for sure. Dashboard is doing that radio show in Chicago too, which makes them less likely but I don’t think that rules them out.

Piqniq doesn't rule any bands out, aside from Greta, since they're doing Lolla.

There's rumor of a Neck Deep / Trophy Eyes tour in September. Going to assume that's going through Riot.

Somebody on Reddit is saying the line-up will be coming in "like two weeks" (this was posted last week). Supposedly, the source is a smaller Chicago band who is playing.

Obviously I'm hoping for sooner... But it would stand to reason that we're looking at next week. Not too much later than we would get it this week, anyway, given the North Coast announcement on Tuesday.

I really think they're waiting for Rock on the Range to pass through. I think there'll be more crossover than we think.

The only reason I could see them waiting for Rock on the Range to pass would be if RotR had it built into a headliner's contract that they couldn't announce other shows until after it passed. I really think Tool is headlining Riot Fest at this point. Otherwise, Rock on the Range would be billing their performance as an "exclusive" or something. And it's currently the only date they have listed.

I just don't think they'd hold on an announcement because of another festival unless there was a contractual reason with a headliner.

Also, it wouldn't be out of the question for them to just announce that headliner in a second wave if they were holding it back for that reason. They have done that before. I think they just like to mess with everyone and change up when they announce it every year.

Good point! System of a Down and the Prodigy both came in the second wave of announcements the one year. And I'm pretty sure the Replacements came a few days after the initial announcement that one year.

But the headliners announced in the first wave those years were pretty big in their own right. No Doubt was a solid exclusive, Faith No More is a relatively rare festival get, etc. I could see them holding if the other two headliners are on the weaker tip (it would be a bit embarrassing if all they had to announce was Beck and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as a top three, for example, unless the second and third lines were stacked).

I don't think that's the case, though. Probably just finalizing things with contracts and will announce when the line-up will come the day after that's squared away. (Or they've finalized things already and just need to wait for an appropriate day of the week when they aren't competing with another festival announcement.)
