I think that's what I was getting at. They've never booked a band that felt/looked/seemed out of place when they got on-stage.

Acts that have caught me a little off-guard: The Prodigy, Merle Haggard, Die Antwoord, Fitz & the Tantrums

But I feel like they all still fit the vibe of the festival at the end of the day.

 

Yep. Ween too. It’s definitely what makes them so fun. I’d love for them to get Chic.

 

I think the general consensus is "nobody knows but historically there's no overlap" on that one. It would be cool if we wound up getting AWOLNATION or Dashboard, though.

 

I don't think Piqniq disqualifies anyone per say, but it may make them less likely. I'm still really rooting for the Front Bottoms to get added.

 

See, I didn't think Ween was any further off than the Flaming Lips (who actually caught me off-guard the first time too; I should add them to the list).

 

I think The Front Bottoms and Dashboard Confessional are still in play for that reason. Everyone else I don't think would work perfectly (Greta would, but they're playing Lolla, and Bush has a summer tour).

 

Yeah, Peaches was gonna be my go-to answer and she and The Prodigy had massive crowds despite being pretty different from the typical Riot Fest acts.

 

Peaches had one of the best sets of the weekend last year.

 

I would say Peaches was a good fit. They were in a bunch of CKY videos.

I don't think anyone outside of these forums would be flabbergasted to see Limp Bizkit, a rock band, booked at this rock festival.

Weren't we also just talking about the possibility of Janet Jackson as a headliner? lol

 

Janet Jackson, Father John Misty, and Limp Bizkit are all on the same festival. The future is looking bright, my friends

 

Honestly I came here to have a good time and I’m feeling so attacked that everyone ignored all my posts about Smash Mouth

That means we would get EELS and I’m perfectly fine with that

 

Throw the Shrek 2 soundtrack in and we are genuinely heading towards a great line up

 

Shrek The Third wasn’t that good of a movie, but the soundtrack is solid

You know what? Let’s get an entire festival with a lineup of every band that has contributed music to a Shrek movie

Be prepared for a festival with Smash Mouth, Eels, Couring Crows, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Wolfmother, Paul McCartney and Weezer
