Decent explanation but I think that's just cover for something that was overlooked haha. To be honest I didn't really even notice until people started nit picking.

AKA Olsen trying to do the accent wasn't great and was already inconsistent at best and they wanted an excuse to get rid of it

  5. I went back and read a few pages. I'm surprised how many people have Infinity War in their top 1 or 2 Marvel movies. I definitely liked it, but it did drag about halfway through, and Marvel cross over events (both in the comics and the MCU) inevitably suffer from too many characters and spectacle over story telling. Give me a Black Panther or a Winter Soldier any day over another Avengers.

I noticed it and it reminded me of Carrie Fisher's English accent in the first Star Wars. Here today, gone tomorrow.

The ethical mess of that technology scares me a lot, tbh.

Like, Tarkin in Rogue One, in addition to being distracting for a film with a grittier aesthetic, was weird in regards to reviving the dead for roles they might've not wanted. And then there's the Hobbit movies: Lindsay Ellis, while making her 3-part YouTube series on that trilogy, heard that one of the dwarves wanted to negotiate for more money when it became 3 films instead of 2. And allegedly, the studio replied, "We have your digital likeness, so you'll be in it either way."

Freaking capitalism, man. Like, who knows how much worse that will get, especially if Disney successfully acquires Fox. It might be impossible to find work in that industry without forever surrendering your likeness (if we're not there already).

Anyways, on a less dystopian note, lol, I'm curious what happens with Fury and Coulson in Captain Marvel. The technology has come a long way, but I'm not sure I'll want a digital Samuel L Jackson as a main character; might be less distracting for me if they'd just use current Sam and ask us to ignore the age thing, lol. We'll see.

Should've just recast Tarkin. The guy that did the voice and mo-cap looked enough like a young Peter Cushing that they could have made it work with hair and makeup. So frustrating.

Did a podcast on this and talked about why I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending. But overall I thought the movie was solid. Avengers: Infinity War

while I agree they look similar, the character of Tarkin wasn't really a "younger Tarkin", this all took place in the coming weeks/days before A New Hope so Tarkin would look relatively the same in Rogue 1 and A New Hope. I was able to get used to the CGI Tarkin relatively quickly, I think I actually might have liked the decision to re-cast him less than the reanimation.

I just realized that t’challa has now died in 2/3 of his mcu appearances

His dad died in the other one, so technically a Black Panther has died in all movies so far?

Like I said, he looks like a younger Peter Cushing in real life, so they could've made him look pretty close to Cushing at the right age with hair and makeup. The CGI we got instead looked terrible.

How funny would it be if he makes his grand reappearance in Avengers 4 just to immediately get shot in the head?

    There would be riots!

But Disney isn't letting a billion dollar sequel go anywhere. His death was the moment I was like "ohhhhh, none of this is sticking" lol.

Spider-Man’s was mine. I hate that knowing the release schedules took away from the emotional impact, for me at least, even though his death was well acted

I couldn't even see him when he was eating his chip!

True. It does kinda take away the stakes a lil bit.

It was actually. Super well balanced.

On the contrary, I was really impressed by the ending partially because I know much of it will be undone and it still affected me. It was all in the acting. Tom Holland obviously, but also Danai Gurira's look of utter shock when T'Challa disappears (really underrated moment in that sequence).

Wendys may be a typical capitalist machine that doesn't give a crap about workers, but they sure do meme. And, I like eating their 4-for-$4 meals.

  24. Farmworkers Call Out Wendy’s For Failure To Act On Sexual Abuse And Harassment | HuffPost
One fast food behemoth has remained outside, however: Wendy’s. For two years, the Coalition has been calling for a boycott of the company. Together with its allies, it is demanding that the Ohio-headquartered burger chain sign on to the Fair Food Program to address sexual harassment and other abuses it says workers likely endure while picking tomatoes destined for Wendy’s salads and hamburgers.
