SmackDown shakeup: New night and new rosters for New Era

Wow, back to the brand split. This could be great. I wonder if it'll be only one world title.

 

I think the worst thing about a brand split is having to endure a three hour Raw with less people.

 

Nah, should mean more lower card guys taking losses instead of all the big names getting "buried" each week like you guys like to bitch about.
Instead of mid card champs or the Zigglers of the world losing every week, it should be guys like the Outcasts, Shining Stars or whatever the hell they're called, Ascension, Breeze...

Also maybe some more NXT call-ups to flesh out the bottom end of the card.

 

there's not enough depth in the women's division for one show, nevermind two separate ones. i guess they can just relegate the women to raw and not have womens wrestling on smackdown at all, though that doesn't seem like great idea either.

 

Does this mean return of the WHC ? Or will the Champion be on both shows? I hope they bring back the other belt to give other guys a chance to shine or Reigns/Rollins/Cena are gonna rotate it around forever.

 

The original brand split is one of the things that took me out of wrestling as a kid, so I really don't know how I feel about this.

I guess it's not so much two separate rosters that bothers me, it's the company having two main championships and two top guys that does. I always felt like splitting the titles cheapens both titles. So as long as they don't split apart the WWEWHC i'm ok with it.

 

The titles were unified too recently for them to go back, I think. It could be something that happens eventually but for now I doubt it happens.

there are a lot of things a brand split helps with, not the least of which is combatting overexposure. we should also be getting less repetitive shows/stories.

 

Make the IC title Smackdown's top title, introduce a new WWE World Cruiserweight title to be a secondary (it'd be cool as a main but i don't see that ever happening). Raw gets the WWEWHC and the US title.

 

Hopefully they keep the Divas on RAW and possibly bring back the Cruiserweight division to SD?? They are going to crown a new Champion in that tournament soon.

 

If a Cruiserweight title was the top title on Smackdown, that'd be great.

It'll likely be a WWE'r going over, but I think as of right now they want to keep them pretty separate from the main shows. They'll talk about it on the shows, but I don't think they have guys cut promos or anything for it. I don't think the Cruiserweight tournament will mean anything more than a push from La Sombra or whatever.

 

If that is the case, they could totally give him a big push. Last guy picked making a big push and coming out on top.

 

Yeah, I stopped watching not long after the Invasion angle wound down. Just meant too many things going on at once to possibly tell a coherent set of stories.

Well, and think of how many failed ideas they come up with in a single year. Now, give them half the people to come up with ideas for...it means they almost cant move on from a storyline that isnt working.

I wonder if they'll split the lower titles, like they did last time.

 

This is exactly my point about the tournament. Nobody should expect someone like Zack Sabre Jr or Akira Tozawa to win it, it'll probably be La Sombra.

I would expect to see at least a couple indie/international names get signed after it though. They'd be foolish not to hire ZSJ as they need more British talent to fill satisfy that growing market for wrestling in the UK, and he can fill the gap in incredible technical submission wrestling since Bryan left.

 

Oh already been posted oh well, should be interesting, don't like the idea of a brand split at all.
