Man, @zerotimeseleven has a lot of the worst takes on things.

 

Everything that takes us further from Fraction's Hawkeye is bad.

I don’t agree with Zero on Thor, but I can agree about Hawkeye’s family. Couldn’t give less of a shit about him or his shoehorned-in family

Waititi can do no wrong. Also i hate that they let Wright go on Ant-Man then proceeded to try and rip his style off. Movie woulda been so much better with him getting to make it

 

It sucks being right and not a sheep.

 

The problem is that in the comics Hawkeye has such great wit and adds value to any situation in ways that aren't just being a great archer and in the movies they abandon all of his charm.

 

Jeremy Renner is a good actor and a competent version of this Hawkeye, but he was miscast/written from the jump.

Speaking of Nicolas Cage, how have they not gotten him to be in the Fast & Furious franchise yet? This seems like the most obvious casting choice of all time.

I really see opinions on this movie souring over time after the recency bias / hype dies down. As a movie it just really isn’t that good. Yeah most of the fight scenes are fun but there are just way too many glaring faults in the story to justify putting it so highly
